Derek Trucks and Jack Pearson are SO MUCH better pair of guitarists musically than Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks. The music made during show proves it!!! Definitely seek out a copy.
I had the pleasure of sitting on stage for the show and meeting the band after, very down to earth people they all signed the chair I used.
Many thanks to them all for a night I will never forget.
I had the pleasure of taking two of my buddies to catch this show. The look on their faces was priceless (big smiles!). The band (minus Warren) was very tight. Jack and Derek played off each other like they had been playing together for years. Glad to see Jessica make its way back to the setlist (it made my one friends night). Susan T. showed up and played one song…I was hoping she would stick around longer. Gregg played and sounded in top form. After the show, got to see Gregg out back mingling with the “common folk”. It’s always nice to see that class.
I would love a copy of the show. If there is someone who taped the show, please contact me. Thanks
Cammee
p.s. See you in Ontario next year!!
I believe the Jack Pearson song is “I’m Not Crying”, not “Wipe Them Tears”
Another solid show comprised again almost entirely of 1970’s material. No Chuck Leavell tonight, but we did get to hear Susan Tedeschi play Don’t Think Twice. Ron Holloway also guested. The last 5 songs really rocked the roof off the house. Here is the set list:
No One To Run With
Black Hearted Woman
Don’t Want You Know More
It’s Not My Cross To Bear
Hot ‘Lanta
Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More
Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’
Statesboro Blues – Jack on slide
Jessica
Don’t Think Twice – Susan Tedeschi
Wipe Them Tears – Jack Pearson
One Way Out
Dreams
Southbound
Mountain Jam
>drums
>bass
>Mountain Jam
Encore:
Whipping Post
I had the pleasure of meeting Oteil, Derek and Susan after the show and I must say they are very gracious and humble people. While I wasn’t surprised, I was surprised, if you know what I mean.
Guys, please don’t skip Canada next year.
