I performed in the show as a trumpet player in the opening band. Our band was the “The Notations” from Sumter, SC. We also played a second set after the ABB band played. They set us up using their PA system for that set. Jaimoe also played with us during our second set. He thanked us for letting him play some soul music with us. The roadies said they had just come from Atlanta’s Peach tree festival and didn’t get to play because of weather if I remember correctly. This was my first experience listening to the ABB and have been a fan ever since. I do remember there was a reel to reel at the mixing board. Hopefully a taping of the show will turn up one of these days.
Anyone who attended this one have memories to share with us?
