Hi Everybody!

I think y'all are gonna LOVE these. No, the video part is not excellent on either of these (see notes below - the 1977 is much better than the 1975). But the music is SO good, and FINALLY getting to see who's playing the leads (sometimes anyhow), that after a few minutes you really won't even notice the video problems.

The usual rules apply here: be willing to reseed, keep it moving, update your posts with IN & OUT dates, etc.

EVERYBODY needs the 1977 Asbury Park show: this the last known footage before the crash !

------------------- #1 ------------------------

Lynyrd Skynyrd
April 27, 1975
Winterland
San Francisco, California, USA

DVD from video shot by Bill Graham's in-house multi-camera black and white setup. Not great video quality, but not too bad either. The soundboard audio is very decent quality with selectable Dolby Digital/AC3 or linear PCM audio.

There are a few minor bad spots, especially at the beginning of the show and please understand that the in-house black and white Winterland video setup left a bit to be desired even when captured off of a master tape. But that being said, I'm sure this will please any Lynyrd Skynyrd fan just fine! This is the first circulation for this VHS tape that was traded for over 20 years ago.

00:00:00:00 chapter 1 Whiskey Rock 'n' Roller
00:04:22:02 chapter 2 I Ain't The One
00:08:28:08 chapter 3 The Needle And The Spoon
00:13:37:17 chapter 4 I'm A Country Boy
00:18:45:27 chapter 5 Gimme Three Steps
00:24:28:09 chapter 6 Don't Ask Me No Questions
00:28:30:07 chapter 7 Saturday Night Special
00:34:34:13 chapter 8 Railroad Song
00:39:43:06 chapter 9 Call Me The Breeze
00:46:48:00 chapter 10 Sweet Home Alabama
00:51:56:15 chapter 11 encore break
00:53:38:21 chapter 12 On The Hunt
01:01:56:08 chapter 13 Free Bird
01:14:33:29 end

Ronnie Van Zant - Vocals
Allen Collins - Guitar
Ed King - Guitar
Gary Rossington - Guitar
Leon Wilkeson - Bass, Background Vocals
Artimus Pyle - Drums

Lee Freeman - Harmonica (Railroad Song, Call Me The Breeze)
Note: Billy Powell was not present at this show.

Lee Freeman, who played with Ed King in the Strawberry Alarm Clock, plays harmonica on Railroad Song and Call Me The Breeze (and taking the place of Billy's piano solo on Call Me The Breeze).

Thanks to the previous seeders for the setlist and band member info.

Unknown lineage VHS tape > Sony SLV-R1000 > Sony DVMC-DA2 Media Converter > Apple Macintosh Final Cut Pro ("nip and tuck" edits and chaptering) > Compressor > DVD Studio Pro (menu/authoring) > VIDEO_TS file set.

Audio post capture processing in Pro Tools (normalization, fades and clicks level changes repaired seamlessly). No equalization or noise reduction. Audio placed back into Final Cut Pro before Compressor down-sampling.

Attributes:
Video: NTSC 720x480 VBR 7.7 Mbps peak, 6.2 Mbps average data rate, 2-pass.
Audio: choice of Dolby Digital 2/0 (L,R), 48 kHz sample rate, 448 kbps data rate

Hey, fellas, let's try to do this right.:

Copy the list of names, add yours to the bottom, then update the thread with IN and OUT dates. That means, copy and paste the list of names again, and update your line with dates...

Please read the first post (at least) of the Vining... How to... and then look at some other vines for examples.

I'm a n00b here - I joined 10 days ago. I shouldn't have to be the one to straighten y'all out.

This should be pretty easy...

JDLPIRATE has advised that one of the discs arrived blank.

Apparently, my DVD burner is dying. Back-up external drive now burning replacement.

Replacement seed disc goes OUT 2/23.

Sorry for the delay.

You're welcome, Sal. I'm glad you liked 'em.

I can't believe how often I watch 'em, considering the poor 70s video quality. Everybody I play 'em for (not just the Skynyrd fans, but EVERYBODY) is kinda blown away and they usually ask me to burn 'em copy. Ronnie was the real deal. RIP

I just sent you a PM regarding a possible re-seed for: ABB--3-22-01--WITH CHUCK!--3 disc audio vine

Please let me know if you can help get this one moving again.
