Off to do the wash before the Flyers get started.

And my Devils spanked those Fly boys at home 5-0.

Heh heh.

I figured after Broduer retired, you would go back to the hometown team, Sabres.

Yes they did spank us, and then we turned around and spanked the Caps in Washington 7-2.

They are young (the Flyers), and haven't learned how to play at a consistent level night in and out yet. But they are coming on quickly and will be a problem for someone in the playoffs this coming year.

Nice to hear from you Ron. Hope all is well. Grin

I miss Marty but Blackwood is looking good as our number one.

Can't stop being a Devils fan after 28 years.

I do watch all the Sabre games I can if the Devils aren't playing.

Things are good here.

Abusive wife moved out eight years ago.

I reconnected with a high school girlfriend and she's been living here going on six years now.

I don't spend hardly any time on this site now, most everyone is on facebook so we can chat in real time.

I guess I am a dinosaur as the only living person that does not have a FB account.

Sorry to hear about wife moving out, but happy to hear you found a lost connection.

6 years though? Man 'o man, I ain't been by for quite a bit of time. Seems like only yesterday. Time sure does fly by.

Let me know if you are ever going to be passing through or down this way and I will grab you tickets for Longwood gardens (where I am working now that I retired). Thursday night, Friday Night, and Saturday Night fountain shows at 915pm are 30 minutes long and are synchronized to a fine outdoor audio system. You can go online to Longwoodgardens.org and see what the playlist is for any given night before coming. I highly recommend the British Invasion, Beatles, Motown. Surpise of the season for me last year was how much I enjoyed Swan Lake. Didn't think classical music would move me so much. The gardens are also spectacular, a lot to see!

Take care.

Cool

We had a few other changes as well.

Mom decided to retire so we closed the florist shop three years ago.

Dad refuses to stop working so he and my daughter and I have an organic produce business growing on the greenhouse property and at my house.

I took over the mulch business and still have my photo gig as well as mowing a couple lawns next to the greenhouse.

We work our asses off from April to October then lay low during the winter.

I've applied to several local stores but noone wants to hire a 60 year old hippie for seasonal employment.

Funny thing is the last place I applied (liquor store) for a part time job they are still looking to hire two months later.

Their loss.

I went in last week, saw the sign on the counter and told the owner I could have been employee of the month TWICE by now and they wouldn't still have an opening.

She was speechless.

Peg doesn't do facebook either so you aren't the only Lounger not on there.

I love it, that's how Jeanne and I got back together after not seeing each other in 40 years.

Wow, I am surprised you went BACK INTO the Liquor store. If it were me, I wouldn't have given them my business. Good to know you still have some family business going. Glad to know that FB works for some, I guess I am just old-fashion, I enjoy forum style of communications and interface.

How are the kids, or should I say your adult children? Hope they are doing well.

Home from an afternoon at Longwood. I don't think we even had 100 people today. But the orchid display and show is out of this world. Orchids are some of the most amazing plants the good Lord put on this earth.

As I said, oldest daughter Amy is working with my father & I.

She's 90% disabled thanks to her time in the Army, mostly TBI related but she'll need both knees replaced at some point and shoulder surgery.

She's putting that off as long as possible.

Susan is managing a PT office in Buffalo.

Ken works for a company in Beaumont, TX selling rare investor quality coins and bullion, he just did a trade show in Vegas two weeks ago.

My youngest son Derek turned 28 last week.

He lives with his mother and is an EMT working towards a nursing degree and eventual move to WA.

He comes out regularly to target shoot on the backyard rifle/pistol range.

If you go back a couple pages here you'll see my now 14 year old grandson and our four generation deer hunt on Thanksgiving.

My dad turned 83 in December, shot his 29th deer with a bow on the opening day of crossbow season.

Just wandered back a couple of pages to see the family tree in a photograph.
That picture must make you very proud and thankful.
And your still hunting Bambi. I guess some things should never change.

I thought I would wander into a Sunday sing-along. But I am only hearing my own voice.
Kind of like singing in the shower...

Good Ol Sunday Evening

Nice to see some good old Lounge type conversation going on … I didn't do "Facebook" either Rich, until this site slowed down, but I didn't want to lose touch with all the friends I had made over the years so I signed up … it really isn't essential that you post what you had for breakfast every day - although many seem to think so - but I am glad that it enables me to keep in touch with y'all … I just wish I lived closer so we could meet up for a beer now and then …

Yes Colin, I do agree. I wished you lived closer so we could meet up for a beer.
In fact, I will go look right now at the local real estate listings and see what's available.

Great to hear from, need to run a few errands. Just checked in before I left and saw you had posted,
and wanted to reply rather then forget later on.

...spraying Lysol as I enter the Lounge...

Hi, anybody home? How are we all feeling? So far so good at our house, trying not to feel too couped up. I have plenty of home projects since we just moved. Sending love to everyone and hope we all get through this crazy time in the world. At least we have our music!! Couldn't live without it!

Hey Peg, and other loungers.

Had to cut my Feb/March Florida trip short. We were in Key West on week 3 and I heard rumors that Trump was considering a domestic travel ban. There are a lot of worse places to get stranded, but still decided to end the trip early. Son is heading home from Manhattan tomorrow. Daughter is a school reading specialist, and Delaware's state of emergency has ended all schooling. So starting tomorrow, everyone is "back" home with Mom and Dad.

I guess it could be worse. I hope everyone is practicing "social distancing" and keeping those hands cleaned. Stay healthy my friends.

Hi Peg, Rich and all you other dear Lounge Friends … as I have a supressed immune system and am therefore in the "high risk" group with regards to virus effects, I am keeping a low profile at the moment … no gigs, no pubs, no restaurants, just once a week trips to the supermarket for food as required … but I am still getting out in the fresh air for the occasional coastal stroll (keeping a safe distance from others) and there are plenty of jobs for me to do around the house and garden, with lots of music to listen to while doing them (thanks to the generosity of many of you lounger friends) … be safe and keep well y'all ...

Hunkering down in Skantown.

Stressing big time with the financial hit this will have.

My local little league pics are the first bit of decent income I have coming out of the unemployment winter.

I expect they will cancel the season since it looks like school may be done for the year.

That also means no $ for graduation pics.

With a serious hit to the economy I don't see my mulch business doing sh!t this summer either.

As for the farm, we don't know if we will even have a Farmers Market yet and the roadside stand may be a thief's wet dream compared to the usual.

Right now I am not in a good place, financially or emotionally.

Add to that confirmed cases where Jeanne's elderly parents live and this guy is not a happy camper.

Sorry for your losses Ron. I guess I didn't think about all the ancillary events/programs and the associated losses that will happen due to the CDC's recommendations.

Hopefully you can find some way to turn things around in your favor, even if partially.

Colin, keep doing what works for you. At the end of this, best scenario is our lives were only mildly disrupted for a few weeks/months.

Hope everyone else heeds the advice and makes sound decisions for their selves and their families.

Everyone is now home at my casa, seems like old times, except now they are young adults instead of teenagers!

Hey Ron … I am sorry that on top of everything else that you are facing such financial implications … I hope this thing passes and people not only survive with their lives but also their livelihoods … whilst I am medically at risk, which is a bit scary, at least being retired with a private pension I am not so immediately worried about the financial implications of the pandemic … as long as my pension provider remains solvent of course!

Wishing you and Jeanne (and of course her parents) well … stay safe my friend …

Good Morning Loungers.

The Governor of Delaware has said there will be "Stay at home" order until May 15.
That's 8 weeks from now. So hard to believe it has have come to this.

Serious measures indeed.

Keep your distance, wash your hands, and just ride the wave until it's over.

See 'ya.

The UK has just been put on lock down today and as I am in the "at risk" group I have been advised to stay at home for the next 12 weeks … I think I actually feel psychologically better for this edict as I feel a bit safer … unfortunately it is impossible to get home food deliveries at the moment so Jan still needs to go out once a week to get food in … other than that risk I am quite happy to sit in the conservatory with a cold beer and start listening to my music collection … stay safe and well my friends …

Hi Sal … good to "see" you here, although sadly due to such tragic circumstances.

I was very saddened to hear of Stephen Antonakos (aka Homeboy) passing … always enjoyed our exchanges in the "Duane" section and swapped a few shows over the years too.

This virus has no mercy nor compassion for good people … RIP Steve …

Stay safe and well my friends …
