As we near the 50th Anniversary of the forming of the band, in celebration of that monumental occasion, I’d like to offer their show from September 3, 1971 in Montreal at The Place des Nations.

This is a rough sounding audience source of lesser quality that has chatter, some foul language and has only one really tremendous thing going for it…. the original lineup of the Allman Brothers Band!!!

It’s a fairly standard set, but, there are a couple of nice wrinkles to it, because you just never knew where Duane might take the band on any given night.

Since this is a vine, which depends upon the speed of which it’s passed along to other interested listeners, I ask that as you receive it, you should burn it and turn it. Do NOT sign up for this if you’re going to receive it and then bog things down by keeping it from proceeding onto the next person.

I would ask that the first recipient be in the U.S., unless the first signee is Colin Harvey as I would gladly send it Harvey’s way if he’s numero uno.

Long live the memories of Duane and Gregg Allman, Berry Oakley and Butch Trucks! Best of all wishes to surviving members Jaimoe and Dickey Betts. You all made some amazing music together!

Wow … I take a couple of weeks off from the board and this happens … that will teach me to ignore all you good people 😉

Fortunately I found out about this from Sal Capitano on FB and he is kindly sending me a copy Cool

I love that there is a Layla tease in a jam by Duane … don't think I have ever heard one of those before …

Nice album Ed … can't remember the last time I played some SRV … must put a couple in the CD player in the car for the weekend as I am off down to London to see TTB on Saturday and then having a few days vacation taking the back roads on a slow route home … really looking forward to it … not just the gig but also meeting up with my concert buddies that I haven't seen in a while … the only thing that I miss having moved to the country when I retired …
