Finished the day at a celebration of the life of Barry Crimmins.
His sister was a classmate, he and I were casual friends.
His late father insisted years ago they wouldn't buy flowers from anyone but Laxton's Florist.
We closed the florist shop a year and a half ago but I was able to take a large bunch of snaps and other blooms to them for the wake from the beds we grow for farmers market bouquets.
Barry's sister and 92 year old mother were thrilled.
I just chalked it up to tradition.
They always got their flowers from us, why should it be any different now?

Rather fitting given that it is Dickey day at Peach Fest …

Good Afternoon friends, I was in the neighborhood and thought I would stop by Lounge to see how y'all were doing. Found myself reminiscing a bit over the past week about ABB show I had attended in the past (listening to the Instant Live copies of those shows will do that every time!), and thought I would stop by and post if my Username and Password would allow.
I sure hope the usual cast of characters who frequented this joint 10+ years ago are doing well. I see Colin, Stick, and Masahiko finishing the singalong (Hey fella's), just not much other chatter since. I guess the end of line for the ABB, coupled with FB have taken their toll on forums like these. I am very thankful for friends and acquaintances I made when I hungout at this joint. Going back a page or two I see that Ed is still around (Hey Ed!), as well as Peg and Ron (hey peg and ron!).
I will try and stop by a bit more often now that I have time. Being retired tends to free up your schedule. No shows on my current schedule to see, although a roadtrip (not in the Red Volvo..) to see ZZ Top might be in the future to Richmond VA.
For me, wife and kids are doing very well, and that is what is most important. Kids are graduated from college and in the working world. Hope to catch with you all one day. Until then,
see 'ya
