Anyone notice that there seem to be more and more ABB Tribute bands popping up across the country? Great to see musicians keep live performance of the ABB canon alive and attracting new, younger fans to the legacy and history of the ABB. Who are your favorites? Feel free to post their upcoming shows on this thread.

There are a TON of them. There are 3 or 4 regularly playing near me, I actually turned down two ABB tribute offers the past couple years. They all have the same names - Allman Revival, Brothers Again, Revival Brothers, Midnight Riders Revival, etc. Most of them have some decent guitarists but fail miserably in the vocals department. David Goldflies actually has a decent one with Mike Kach signing. Nice to see the music lives on but I'm just not one for tribute bands. I'd rather hear a mix of tunes.

Alan Paul's Friends of the Brothers is probably the best I've heard since it's more of a celebration of the music rather than trying to recreate the Allman Brothers. Having Junior Mack sing and play guitar doesn't hurt. Other than that, the most interesting one I've heard is Steeling Peaches since they kind of put their own spin on the music, like JRAD does with the Dead.

Steelin Peaches are killer! Great musicians with a loose approach and energy. I started one about 18 mos ago call "Faster Things". Had no idea at the time how many ABB Tribute bands there were....Friends of The Brothers is another good one. Andy Aledort and Junior Mack are smokin'.

There's no material more fun to play and perform to an appreciative crowd than the canon of the ABB.

I caught Trouble No More a while back, mostly good but a mixed bag. Love hearing Lamar Jr sing and Roosevelt Collier's lap steel was a perfect fit. Peter Levin was on keys and he's phenomenal. I didn't think Taz or Daniel Donato were good fits on guitar, and not a fan of Donato signing.

Leif de Leeuw Band from the Netherlands. They are not strictly a tribute band but once they made a tribute album (see also

A couple of months ago, they played in our local club in Germany, six band members crammed on a very small stage. They played Jessica and Soulshine,
