NL Tie Breaker games today. Let's go Brewers!
Uh, no!
GO CUBS!!!!
Sorry buddy. BREW CREW are Central Champs! Great game considering both of these teams dropped over 10 runs yesterday. Gotta love October baseball.

If that was the rule I would advocated for going further down the statistics (to decide the winner) like football does to avoid an extra game. This brings in a few bucks; but to some extent punishes teams like the Cubs and the Brewers who have the best record in their league
I like the tie-breaker game. They play a 163rd game because they can, whereas, you can't add a tie-breaker game into an already punishing football season. I don't think it punishes them to duke it out; there are enough stats deciding things in baseball as it is.
But I agree about the one-and-done wild card game - make it a 3-game series if it's playoff baseball, since the World Series now already creeps into November.

Go Cubs Go! Come on guys!

Khris Davis might be the most effective .247 hitter ever -- he's attained that BA four straight years -- NY has had a very good year but LET'S GO A's, do away w/the Bronx Bomiz
at .330 w/43 HR & 130 RBI, JD has had best year for a player joining a team for his 1st season (article said),
...since Frank Robinson's 1st year in Balt., when he won the Triple Crown, and they the WS in a 4 game sweep over Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale & Dodgiz in Sandy's last year -- Frank .316, 49, 122
Oak makes me more nervous than NY but still want them to win -- Let's Go Sox, we got Mookie & JD, Xander & Benintendi, Holt was hot down the stretch.....ya 108 wins in 2018 -- we did this w/out Dustin or Hanley, but our bench is Good -- Pearce & Phillips were great pickups.....Sawx

Yanks are kind of tough to figure out, 100 wins but they cooled off in the middle of the season after a hot start. But they've had a nice September with players getting healthy and Boone finally giving up on Bird and Sonny Gray. Yanks and A's split their season series, should be a good one in da Bronx tonight. Would love to see the Yanks eventually take on the Red Sucks.

I don't get that. If you are more scared about Oakland, why do you want them to win? Especially as a Red Sux fan. Seems like you'd love to beat NY.

Then I'd want to beat them!
As someone who doesn't care TOO much, I would like to see that series. I'm sure MLB would too for the ratings.

Yanks looked pretty beastly last night, look to be at full power. I don't think Oakland knew what hit them. Should be a stellar series if the Red Sucks can get their momentum back after going 5-5 to finish the season. Granted, they had the division wrapped up, but Yanks are peaking at the right time.
Brewers kick things off at home in Milwaukee against Purple Super 1990s Team. It would be interesting to see the Brewers play the Braves for the pennant. WI loves their Brewers, but there are still a few Braves fans kicking around.

Well, we get Red Sux / Yanks. Can't believe it has been so long since they have met in the playoffs. Too bad its not in the A.L. Championship.

and Bu-BYE CUBS!
Epic games so far.
Will any Brewers fans actually fill their stadium? Seems like there are usually more road team fans there. 😉

The Brewers rank in the top 10 for attendance, and the only time there is ever a noticeable opposing crowd is when the Cubs are in town, which is likely what you're referring to. Considering how close the two cities are, and that Chicago is a much larger market, it's not that surprising (though I don't recall White Sox fans doing the same at County Stadium when the Brewers were in the AL)

Heh Heh. Yeah I am referring to the Flubs. Funny how the Brewers wouldn't let people with Chicago area codes in on the pre sale for tix before the season started.
And you are right about the White Sux. They don't travel well. Heck, their fans don't even come up here to the north side.
90 minute trip between the two cities so it makes sense.

Remember; Severino was one batter away in the 4th from getting knocked out. He then gave up two hits to start the 5th. Yanks lineup is beastly. Pitching iffy. Severino wasn't right the second half of the season; Sabathia has a bad knee; Tanaka one game good one bad; Chapman has a bad knee. Betances did pitch better last night than he has in a while

Severino came out hot those first few innings, and he got out of any corners he pitched himself into. I wouldn't call their pitching "iffy", unless they keep using Britton who seems to insist on making his own job hard. It's the playoffs, good teams are also going to get some hits.
Like I said, should be a good series.

Yeah, it always annoys us Brewers fans when the Cubs fans come to town. I don't think there are any other MLB division foes that are that close. Maybe Dodgers/Padres

As much as the Flubs charge us, it is almost cheaper to head up to Milwaukee. $11 for a beer here. 😮

m-m-m-m-m-Mookie, the 1st since Mickey Mantle to lead the league both in BA and extra base hits
Alex Cora has said "No limits" on Chris Sale -- "he's good to go & ready to roll" was the quote in the paper
Let's Go Sox, yow, the tension 😮 😮 😛 (haha) -- our best shot is for the three starters to go out there w/the idea of going nine, or far enough to hand Kimbrel the ball for the save (or if they get in trouble too)
-- if Sale is removed today because of a pitch count, then Cora was BSing in the article

I actually won about $100 on the Brewers because they won the N.L. Central. My friends here thought I was nuts but hey...
Had I not put $ on Cleveland to win the whole thing I wouldn't mind if Milwaukee won their only World Series.

Sox should be a little worried, 5-4 to Sale on Friday was a good sign for the Yanks. Sure, they stranded a few go-ahead runners, but they held after Happ spotted the Sox a bunch of runs and stayed in it. Judge is hot and the bull pen is pretty solid. They are in a good spot heading back to the Bronx tied up after a big win. Yanks seem to have Price's number.
Brewers and Dodgers could complete sweeps today. Fear the Beer!

Brewers wrapped things up in crushing fashion on the road. Nice win, pitching and hitting all seem to be firing. Meanwhile, the Braves live for another day. Guess the crew will just have to deal with a few days off.

I wonder if the Brewers wish they didn't have so much time off? Hell, they are on a roll. Guess it gives them time to set the pitching rotation as they see fit.

I think the rest is always welcome. Sure, momentum is good, but downtown doesn't hurt. Interesting if they end up playing the Houston Rastros - (if the Brewers win the NL pennant) they will be the two teams to have won AL and NL pennants.
Meanwhile, the Yanks are toast. Bad time for their bats to go ice cold, even worse that they had the bases loaded and were back in it in the 9th with "I'm a scarecrow" Kimbrell hemorrhaging base runners.
Weird season, Boone had a lot of pieces to play with in his first year, but they are still missing some key assets in their rotation. They stuck with Sonny Gray in the rotation and Greg Bird in the lineup for too long. Sabbathia is probably done. Not sure what they see in Britton, he gives up a lot from his short trips to the mound. Big decision on Gary Sanchez, is his bat worth the mistakes? Bull pen is solid if they can hold on to Robertson - he could close for big money elsewhere.
Sox look good, the Rastros should be a good matchup.

I don't think the Yanks are toast. Nobody can predict injuries. Wasn't their fault. Haven't heard anything about it but if I was in there shoes, I would go after Hamels.

As in "done for the season". They've got a great young squad, they just need to plug some holes in the offseason.

Gotcha. Yeah they lost. Tough to win 100 games and not even get to the Championship Series.
Speaking of, who does everyone like in the two series? I like Houston and Milwaukee. Wouldn't shock me if Boston moved on though. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me whoever gets to the World Series.
I guess if I had a rooting interest I would pick the Brewers. Never won it so why not?

I'm a Brewers fan, so I'm pretty excited. The number of playoff series they've had in my lifetime is pretty low. The Dodgers are the popular pick since they were there last season, but the Brewers are pretty hot. That's why they play the games...
Not really pulling for either AL team, but I dislike the Sox and wouldn't mind seeing their season done. Not a lot of people talking about the defending Rastros, they could totally repeat. These are 4 incredibly good teams.

The constant pitching changes are annoying me. Over four hours for the game last night.
