Gina - Trump gets caught in a provable lies every week. Just this week he said that he didn't know Prince Andrew. Then not only did a flood of pictures come in with Trump and Prince Andrew together, (including some with Epstein thrown in for good measure) but an old interview surfaced where Trump said that Prince Andrew is a lot of fun. Obviously Trump lied. Even if you discount the photos, he either lied now or he lied back then when he said he knew them. Again, Trump's fans don't care that he lies constantly (that is the new normal), but don't try to say he doesn't lie, or that his lies are opinions, because he lies more than he tells the truth.
He probably met Andrew because he (Trump) knew Epstein, there are pictures of him, Melania and Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell from the old days. If he said Andrew was a lot of fun, then he hung out with him, not necessarily knowing him, it's like parties where celebrities are, sometimes you see the same people so you are acquainted with them, you feel like you know them because you keep seeing them around in the same circles. It is not known if he had any business dealings with Andrew. He said Epstein liked his girls young and he enjoyed his social life. He had to have seen those girls were underage, but did not take any action on that. The main person who has come out against Epstein, Virginia Roberts Giuffre had worked at Mar-a-Lago as did her Father. There was reportedly an incident (this is covered in the Epstein thread) where she was harassed and/or assaulted there and then Epstein was no longer welcome there. If those two events were related is not clear.

Trump lies. There are no contortions defenders can do to justify 100, 1,000, 5,000, much less 13,000+ lies counted by independent fact checkers w/no political or journalism affiliation.
He lies reflexively. He lies in his personal life to both his wives & girlfriends. He continues to lie about his business "success" in the 1980s. Even the ghost writer of his "best-selling" Art of the Deal has said it should've been sold as fiction. It didn't matter then because the only injured parties were the financial institutions stupid enough to lend him money.
It matters now to anyone interested in the stature of the US. Numerous independent fact-checking organizations come up w/the same number as that published by the Washington Post. In addition, academicians are tallying the lies & number of times he's repeated the same lies as research for political science and statistics classes. BTW, fact-checking didn't start w/"enemies" of Trump. Reputable publishers, magazines, news outlets, and newspapers have employed a staff of fact-checkers since the their origination. It's one of the qualities that distinguish journalism from tabloids. In the early to mid-20th century, fact-checking for a magazine like Time or National Review were highly-sought prestigious jobs.
