The plan was farcical to begin with, but yes, even more so now. One of the most interesting aspects within this reporting is just how many American corporations and wealthy individuals actually pay NO income tax.

Also, the use of tax havens is very big business for tax attorneys and law firms and nothing in the current Republican tax plan will change any of this. In fact, several states within the United States are now some of the most sought after locations to set up these havens. For instance, Nevada, Wyoming, and Delaware.....

Lastly, if the Republican controlled federal government really wanted to cut taxes on the lower and middle class, they could easily do so by cutting the payroll taxes these segments of our population pay. I suspect the reason they don't is that wealthy individuals typically don't pay these taxes and so they ignore such an easy fix. It's all smoke and mirrors, boys and girls...

Is America really the most highly-taxed nation in the world as Donald Trump claims?

Of course it isn't....Trump simply heard Lou Dobbs and other right wing media shills say it and so he co-opted the rhetoric and here we are. Trump has no clue about basic economics and only sees the massive tax cut he and his heirs and financiers will gain from this historic give away to the .5% of our population.

If any middle class Trump supporter can't come to grips with the fact that this con artist has completely played them after his support of this bill, then I don't know what it will take. And the supposed deficit hawks on the Republican side of the aisle of Congress are proving just how hypocritical they are for supporting this, at a minimum, $1.5 TRILLION dollar hit to the deficit. All in the name of politics...It's really a disgusting display of a win at any cost...

I only hope that the electorate remember this scam come next November....We can only hope.

What will be sad is when a percentage of those who voted for Trump realize that they will be worse off either initially or down the road with this tax plan.

I would like to see someone defend supply side economics and its many successes from an historical perspective and over time.

You mention GOP deficit hawks. For years they didn't want to even pass CR's due to increases in the deficit. Yet now they are fully in and willing to blow another 1.5 trillion as you have indicated...all hidden under the ruse of supply side economics. What a bunch of hypocrites.
