Here's a letter I have sent to many senators and congress people

I come from a family that sent 10 people to WWII and I have no room in my life for the Nazi salute, the kick step, people marching yelling “Blood and soil” and spouting Nazi ideology. This is not a 1st amendment situation. We need to create legislation that defines Nazi groups and KKK groups as American terrorists and they should be dealt with the exact same level of commitment we do fighting ISIS or AL Queda.

A young lady died this last weekend and she should have not been the person that had to confront American terrorist. American Terrorist need to be confronted by the US military.

If we don't take these terrorist at their word then they will continue to kill innocent people who are trying to confront them unarmed.

This isn't 1st amendment rights this is people terrorizing our country spouting ideologies that were defeated in mulitple wars.

I am not a gun owner or a person who goes to these events to confront Nazi's that is the job we sent the military to do 70 years ago yet we let them march in the street under some bastardization of the 1st amendment!

If they want to be Nazi's lets confront them like we confronted Nazi's in WWII. Because if we don't innocent unarmed people will continue to die in our streets.

This is a disturbing letter I have to write to you. We have a disturbed administration that is inciting disturbed people to do disturbing things!

My father, father-in-law, several uncles, a lot of cousins on both sides of my family, a lot of my older friends were, and are, WWII vets. Every Memorial Day I visit a lot of our family cemeteries and put out flags.
I don't like the Neo-Nazis or those of their ilk, don't want to hear their trash, but, as I've tried to put forward in other threads, you have to respect their freedoms as you do your own. If not, then you become the same as them. Who will protect you when others don't like your freedom of speech?

Your livestock point is well taken, it wasn't just blacks who were oppressed under that system - the majority of Southern whites were dirt poor back then and were slaughtered like cattle in the Rich Man's War for a feudalistic society that would have prevented a middle class from ever formng. theo started a thread entitled "Time to tear down the Big House" or something similar in which he tried an absurdist approach to the removal of Confederate monuments by describing the Big House as a monument to "cultural appropriation" because the ABB had a "token" member and "culturally appropriated" "colored" music and therefore should come down. Here are my thoughts as to why I got into it with you previously. I felt that you greatly trivialized then and are doing it again now, an ORGANIZED invasion of armed Nazis and torchbearing Klan, maybe the largest gathering of race haters ever, into an American city, chanting the slogans of, wearing the clothing of, employing the tactics of (torches, murder - remember Heather Heyer?), and expressing admiration for (Adolf Hitler t-shirts) ideologies that went far beyond "free speech" - they actually led to the slaughter of millions of Jews, lynchings of innocents which were common practice until I was fifteen years old, and centuries of oppression and slavery. The oppression continues to this day. In the case of Nazism it took a goddam WORLD WAR to contain it. In the case of white supremacy in America, it took the goddam CIVIL WAR to contain it. Nazis were allowed to speak and operate freely in Germany, looked upon as beer-hall fringes, until one day they were in Poland, France, Italy, North Africa, Russia, Austria…if they hadn't hated Jewish physicists so much they could have easily had the bomb- they were pretty damn good at rocketry. It's not "protest" and "different opinions" - it's a murderous ideology and it's on the rise because the president and many of his advisers embrace this ideology. No need for sheets and hoods - suits and ties are fine now. No need to meet in the shadows anymore- Trump has our back.
