DID ANYBODY HERE FORGET ABOUT THE SPLASH BROTHERS??

Not me....all day while listening to sports radio calling for a miracle I kept saying they won without Duran in the past so if they can go back to playing like they did before he came here then no miracle is needed just some good play by Steph and Klay!!

Yup. I'll be honest though, I thought that the Warriors would lose this game then possibly close it in Oakland. But we are talking about IMO the greatest guard duo in the history of the NBA. And let's not forget Draymond either. That core triumvirate won it all before Kevin Durant ever arrived.

Kevon Looney was nothing short of spectacular throughout this series and he's going to be a very rich man come next season as free agency is looming. He's a restricted free agent so Warriors will have a right to match any offer, but "any offer" is going to be astronomical. Right now he's playing for the NBA mimimum! What surprises me most is that he is showing flashes of an offensive game that we have never seen: A spin move, an 8 to 12 foot jumper. That happens when you're on a team with four superstars. Give the Warriors credit for this, Looney is one of their BRILLIANT personnel decisions. His first two years out of UCLA (one and done) he was hurt most of the time, even had surgery on both hips. But Warriors management was completely sold on his talent and stuck with him. 90% of the teams out there would have let him go based on the injury issues. He's still only 23 years old.

Not sure if I already stated, through my infinite wisdom and sports expertise, I knew in the first round it will be a Blazers/Bucks Finals!...........Peace. ........joe

I like Portland, not sure they can take GS or Houston though. And in the East, Milwaukee is going to have to show me a LOT more than they did today............Boston was dominant in every phase of the game. Bucks could really be in trouble based on today. If it was a 2 point loss, that's one thing............it was an embarrassment.

I felt early my picks were good ones, I have a Friend living in Portland and I live near Milwaukee, I understood what I am getting with Golden State, but I had absolutely no clue that the Nugs were this damn Tuff, well rounded, versatile tenacious etc..........Peace......joe

It's looking more like a Bucks-Warriors finals is on the horizon. Raptors looked lost last night. Unless Toronto and Portland can turn things around quickly. I wonder who Don Nelson would root for?

Draymond Green Saturday night: SUFFOCATING defense + 19 points + 13 boards + 12 assists.
What an ANIMAL and every bit as important to this team as Durant, Curry and Thompson.

Hell of a game last night, 2OTs. Raptors woke up at home. Hopefully the Bucks rebound in Game 4.

Not much of a surprise, Warriors roll on. Even though the Blazers put up a pretty good fight as far as sweeps go, I think we all knew this round would be a little easier than the Rockets.

and like that, the Bucks are on the ropes. They look like a hot mess last night, jacking up the first open 3 they get, except for a few brief moments where they attacked the rim. They're going to have to steel one on the road or we'll have to put up with Drake for another 2 weeks.

He is lucky Ron Artest an Jermaine Oneal aren't still in the league and playing for the Bucks! 😛

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/mike-dantoni-explains-why-warriors-173219541.html

Mike D'Antoni:

"Well, I think it puts them into more of a desperation mode," D'Antoni said. "We don't have Kevin, and so yeah (they're) more desperate. Do they turn it up a ways? Yeah, probably. But again, I think where they've gotten beside the point (in that discussion) is that we know how good the Splash Brothers and Kevin are, but Draymond Green is playing at a very, very high level, and he's as valuable – if (not) more valuable – than anybody."

Bucks just don't have a finishing move yet. They made a huge leap from #8 to best record in the league this year, but Leonard and the Raptors have the experience. They dug deep, I can't remember 15-points leads feeling as tenuous as the Bucks' big leads the past few games. Great series, hope the Bucks and Giannis come back next year a little more fierce. Lopez seemed to be the only one who remembered what a "high percentage shot" is.

I missed the two Bucks victories at the start of this series but watched every other game. The biggest thing I took away from it was something one of the announcers said yesterday and to be honest without that I wouldn't have picked up on it: "That shows a glaring weakness in Antetekoupo's game. He doesn't have a jump shot." This was right after a play when Giannis obviously wanted to drive to the hoop. Both options right and left were closed by the Raptors' defense. Giannis could have gone straight up and shot it, he was only maybe 15 feet out from the hoop. But truth is, he really doesn't have that option because that part of his game is non-existent. He had to give up the ball and if I'm not mistaken the possession ended in a shot clock violation.

The other thing I took away from that is that Nick Nurse (who I had never even heard of before this year) is probably a pretty damn good Coach. Antetekoupo is LETHAL driving to the hoop, in fact with the exception of Kevin Durant I don't know that I've seen a 6'11" player do some of the things he can do moving with the ball. But OH MAN, Kevin Durant can kill you with his jumper. That part of Giannis' game is non-existent at this point. So nurse coached the Raptors (brilliantly I might add) to take away the driving lanes for Giannis by double-teaming him. It worked to perfection in this series. Until Giannis develops a jumper he is going to be vulnerable, and do you think a few teams in the NBA are going to take something away from this series regarding how to defend him?

That was an old knock against Giannis maybe 3-4 years ago. It may not be as strong as Durant's jump shot, but Giannis has developed a pretty smooth and reliable one. He wasn't going to it much against Toronto, but he definitely nailed a few 3s the past couple games.

Here's an article that breaks down its evolution:

I haven't looked at the links porkchop because I'm not serious enough about this subject to spend that kind of time on it. I will say this: You say Giannis has a jump shot; I certainly don't remember seeing it hardly at all in the Toronto series. And if he does, I don't think he has enough confidence in it to use it when in a jam, like the incident I described with defense up in his face and driving lanes non-existent.

Ha, uh ok. But you did write two paragraphs about it. I wasn't giving you homework, the Youtube link is literally a minute long, but sorry to waste your time with a subject you brought up 😉 Was just offering some info since we don't all have the time to pay attention to all of the games.

Yeah, I mentioned Toronto locked him down overall the past couple games, including his drives to through the paint (and his FTs apparently). But if you want to take your anecdotal, small sample size against a great defense, that''s cool it doesn't hurt my feelings, I'm still happy about a really great Bucks season. Giannis has been around 25-30% from 3-point line the past few seasons (including 18/55 for 32% in 15 2019 playoff games) after going 7/44 in 2014. Like I said, not Kevin Durant, but he has developed a shot.

I do think being a young team with the #1 seed hurt the Bucks - other than a Game 1 blowout to the Celtics, they didn't really face a challenge until Toronto. Meanwhile, Toronto had a tough series against Philly that fully prepared them to gut it out after going down a quick 0-2. Experience won out. And I'm glad the NBA now gives out the MVP after the season, because Leonard deserves it. Should be a good finals, it will be interesting to see how strong the Warriors come out after rest and a lesser opponent in the Blazers. They obviously have the edge, but the Raptors look hungry. And Don Nelson doesn't have to choose sides.

I am somewhat in shock that the Warriors pulled it out last night in Toronto.

1. Steph Curry played through it while obviously ill.
2. Klay Thompson injured during the game.
3. Kevon Looney injured during the game.
4. Durant still out.

The mark of a Champion...........against all odds, they won this one anyway. No one wants to get in an 0-2 hole. DeMarcus Cousins was just unreal last night and we would not have won without him. Looked like he never missed a game, and do NOT forget his defense!

Sure looks that way right now. But then again it's possible we could have both Klay and KD back tomorrow night. If so, this series could change quickly.

I'll say this, Warriors management is very smart, they never play a guy until the injury is healed and they've always been that way since this dynasty began in 2015.

Awesome 1st half here in this 4th game. Frantic and Frenetic, Durant's absence, I think evens the series, possibly still with a real slight GS edge?.........joe.......without Clay also, was to much strain on them to really be effective.

At 1-3 things looking quite grim in Warriorland. I have not given up hope however. We were down 3-1 to OKC in the playoffs several years back and won the series. It is quite evident to me however that we will need KD back to do it............

I said it at the start of the season.

Raptors

Close every year and then they made that trade for one of the best. Then LeBron was no longer a curse for them to deal with.

It is their year and home court advantage is something that GSW were used to. Losing the two at home will be hard to over come.

No excuses offered up from the Bay area this morning. Toronto is loaded with talent, very well coached, and they were extremely tough and stingy on defense. They gave Steph Curry a lot of fits in this series. Congratulations to the Raptors for the first Canadian NBA Championship!

I will say that the Warriors showed exactly what they are made of; this was a contest right down to the last minute of last night's game.

Thank You.

I wish every fan in Toronto could be labeled classy. Yeah, I know this has nothing to do with the Raptors team. And I'm sure that there are some really good fans in Toronto. That said, cheering in jubilation at Kevin Durant's injury is something I have never seen in all my years of watching sports, and I'm over 60 years old. CLASSLESS!!!! Yeah, I know, some will say, "That was a small minority of fans". Maybe so, but I was watching the game and the cheering was LOUD. It was NOT only 2 or 3 people.

Great win by Raps!!!

Not one fan in the audience or media member (that is jumping on Raptors fans) knew that KD blew out his achilles. He just fell, dropped the ball (creating a tuin over) and folks reacted. He shouldn't have been on the court in the first place. And everyone knew that.

To say this is a first in your 60 years seems a bit much. Folks have been laughing at Dallas Cowboys injuries for years.

Great series, I think if Klay didn't blow out his knee this series was going 7, who knows what happens then.

The interest, excitement and intrigue that this series created in Canada was massive. I even watched last 2 series from start to finish and I think along with many of my 50 something year old friends that basketball is a waste of good oxygen.

Rematch next year?

Disagree COMPLETELY. Durant immediately came up limping, it was obvious he was hurt. No one gets THAT excited over one turnover.

Fine whatever you say. I personally have NEVER seen fans laugh at an injury. Not at the Dallas Cowboys or ANY other sports team. Doesn't mean it's never happened, but then I've never watched Dallas much either.
