Jesse Ventura On Marijuana Legalization
"I'd like to know what lawmakers are so afraid of when it comes to actually legalizing marijuana. What are the side effects of this medication? Patients feel better. It helps people manage chronic pain without addiction or death. We just lost Prince, one of the greatest musical icons of my home state of Minnesota, due to prescription pill overdose. If his doctor prescribed him marijuana, I believe he would still be with us today. And as a 'recreational' substance, name me one person who smokes weed and then wakes up the next day not remembering committing violent or aggressive acts, which is so typically associated with alcohol use."

I'm not so sure a marijuana prescription would have done much to prevent Prince's overdose on prescription opiates, but I certainly agree that it at least should be an option. To Jesse's other point, I couldn't agree more that marijuana is a far more benign recreational drug than alcohol.
At this point in the entire marijuana debate, I'm now of the opinion that the delay of full legalization of marijuana at the federal level is caused entirely by lobbyists for the status quo. They simply continue to control federal lawmakers. From Obama to Mitch McConnel to Paul Ryan and many other legislators. 🙁
At this point, I'd be interested in hearing Hillary's plans or opinions on legislation. Sanders had already given his views - which were in favor of legislation. Once again, the politicos are avoiding even mentioning cannabis and legalization. It's only a hot topic in between presidential elections. If Hillary were to give some basic details on her own feelings, and they were favorable ... she might salvage a Sanders voter or two. 😉
I wonder if she inhaled???

I seem to recall in one of the earliest debates she used the same canned reply many politicians use on the topic. That being something along the lines of "I think we need more research of marijuana before we can move forward."
Assuming of course that everyone listening to such a canned response doesn't know that before we can move forward with legal research the federal government in fact needs to change the scheduling to provide for the research. Or that there are decades of research and data from labs and facilities from other nations easily accessible by anyone, especially legislators and presidents!!!
To your point about her gaining the support of Bernie voters, i agree about marijuana reform being such an issue that could sway young voters her way. Another issue would be her support of eliminating the cap on Social Security withholding tax. It's another issue she completely ignored answering in a recent debate with Bernie. He, of course, supports elimination of the cap. As do I as well.
I wonder if she inhaled???
I've often wondered if after Monica she ever gave Bill a chance to ask if she swallowed.

Hillary? I don't think we can imagine that. Now if you said Condoleeza, the way she idolized her former boss I think we could imagine that. Well, you brought it up!
