The irony is that Trump has Pence, as the VP - someone who "claims" to be some big morality type. All you ever see is Pence on his knees giving accolades to Trump. What a hypocrite.

I never understood this logic. One day the right is claiming that liberals live in the most dangerous cities in the country, like Chicago and Philadelphia, and that liberal policies make them so dangerous. They claim that liberals want to house dangerous immigrants in these cities. But then the next day they say liberals need safe spaces. Which is it? And wouldn't it be the conservatives that need their safe spaces, since they long for the White-America old days, a Muslim travel ban, and a border wall? Each side surely has their flaws, but if any side needs a safe space, I think the picture is pretty clear.

Sorry to interrupt this fascinating digression into the metaphysics of "safe spaces" and dangerous cities and liberals and conservatives and that, but I wanted to mention a strange and kinda disturbing thing I saw recently re Stormy Daniels.
She did a performance at a strip club here, a no count seedy little sh*thole. It made the headlines of the regional paper, full color photo of a huge line to get in. Folks in the line were not your typical sportsbar guys - there were matronly bluehaired elderly women, dignified conservative looking old men, and a mix of folks, just weird, lining up for a strip show.
Struck me as odd, like what's the draw? Just because she is famous all these folks suddenly develop an interest in the local strip club?
Is this thing somehow legitimizing this kind of entertainment? Also had me wondering if the infatuation with the president has caused these folks to be fascinated with anything associated with him, and Daniels is some kind of demigoddess in their pantheon, 'the mortal woman who had sex with Zeus'.
Or maybe it is all just very tawdry and mundane, carnival sideshow, rubes flocking to see the tabloid freak. Hard to fathom that we are really that comfortably dumb.

I find the diametric converse of this to be the case. The only people here, or anywhere, that I have ever heard admit to their racist programming are moderately left of center politically. The more conservative you are, the more you claim immunity from the systemic institutionalized racism that affects us all.

It is weird. It is like everything that used to be bad (or, at least hidden) by the folks who would look up to a guy like Pence, is now some kind of virtue. Ignorance? Blatant lying? Vulgarity? Rushing to judgment without facts? Bragging about sexual assault? Porn stars? Adultery with porn stars? Somehow, ANYTHING that Trump does is instantly acceptable and amazing to the followers of this cult of personality. I am sure Pence's wife is having a great time these days - surely, this is not what she signed up for.
