I have read that Jimmy Reed was a big influence on Keef Richards and other musicians of his generation so bought a copy of Jimmy Reed at Carnegie Hall LP to try to understand the attraction. Funny thing is it is not actually a live album but rather a studio recreation of the songs he played at Carnegie Hall and other studio songs. Nice greatest hits type compilation if you want to get into Reed.
Impressive list of backing musicians on the album including Willie Dixon on bass

After listening to the album I can see why Richards held Reed in such high esteem as he was a great bluesman who wrote some classic songs. Highly recommended if you are into blues.

I love Jimmy Reed. A bunch of his songs were on the ELVIS comeback special album that my parents had when I was a kid so I discovered him then. Love his voice and guitar work, he wrote some classic tunes that became standards. Sea Level used to perform a cool cover of his "Take Out Some Insurance".

Freddy King is another old Blues guitarist that many of the classic rock musicians mention as a big influence on their music so I found this excellent 2LP compilation of his instrumentals. Any suggestions on favorite albums by other old bluesmen for me to check out is always appreciated

Freddie has a number of excellent releases, Texas Cannonball being my favorite.
Skip James and Lightning Hopkins, Son House would be other recommendations if you're not already familiar with them.
I was fortunate enough to see the Three Kings, BB, Albert & Freddie in concert.
