Duane & Boz - Loan Me a Dime

This is THE SONG that got me playing guitar. Probably my favorite song ever. And it was recorded 12 years before I was even born(1969?)

And another. Apparently Gregg was pretty toasted here. No matter to me. It's still one of, if not my favorite version of this song. I can only imagine the pain & anguish Gregg dealt with after the losses of Duane & Berry. Having buried my only child in 2014, I have some sort of idea.

And I don't fault him at all for it.

Something "light" to start the day with... great song but one you might not want to play during the party...

Yesterday I received the 2-CD Springsteen archival release from 12/12/75 at

CW Post College in NY.  It is .....ridiculous. Fantastic sound and some of the best

live Bruce I have ever heard.

@stratdal Great song on a fantastic album. I am a big fan of Savoy Brown and especially all their albums up to and including Boogie Brothers. Those three Dave Walker albums are some of their best.

Amazing how good and consistent their music was over the years despite Kim Simmons changing lineups constantly. Kim lives not too far from me and plays a small tavern, Bull Run, at least once  a year and my wife and I are going to see them in August. Simmons can still bring so I am really looking forward to that show.

Thanks Bill!  Like the ABB, I was late to the Savoy Brown party.  (Turns out I saw them play at a local blues festival but didn't make the connection.)

I first heard "Hell Bound Train" on Mitzi's (poster known as Greggs_Woman) on her Halloween edition of her Facebook radio program.  Suffice to say, I was blown away!  A few months later, at the local cajun-blues festival, there was a cd booth and I came across the cd.  Of course I grabbed it; I'd have paid gold!  Gave it a spin this morning during my morning drive.  "Hell Bound Train" was played twice to massive volume.  It was fun.  Cheers!

@stratdal not sure what other albums of theirs you own but if you want more Savoy Brown I recommend looking for the BGO label 2fer CD's as you get two SB albums for the price of one. You can usually find them on eBay at reasonable prices.

Excellent mastering on those BGO releases as well

Jerry Garcia Live at the Keystone Palo Alto 10/23/82...I was at this show. I lived at the Keystone PA once I turned old enough to go and saw so many great bands there. Got to play there myself and opened for quite a few people and played the closing night as the support act for Chris Issac
