Agree. By connecting with loyal people Michael Lehman, Don Was, Scott Sharrard and others, Gregg really was able to go out on a high note. Though the final year of the ABB was less than what we wanted, he was already living with his cancer diagnosis (and then broken wrist) and we didn't know it. The final ABB Beacon run (final couple nights in particular) were epic though.

Add this new album to Low Country Country Blues, Live in Macon CD/DVD and All My Friends Concert and he really did go out on productive / high quality terms,,, particularly in light of his medical condition over the final 9 years of his life.

I am resisting listening too much. Audio peeked at most songs. I'll order vinyl, since recorded on tape, we hope a pure analog transfer to vinyl is likely, probable. Seems they never say.

I am not sure this will be a weekly play or anything. It seems his dark masterpiece, ala Dylan Blood on The Tracks. I play that not to be happy, but to reaffirm validity in the gray side of life, and the bittersweet. Play it when I'm down. Somehow it makes me less crazy. I am 8 years behind Gregg and too much of the last mile stuff hits too close to home. Not that I am dying, we hope (we all are dying) but these stages of the path. One has to be tougher than they ever have been. Gregg's song choice and energy of soul are deep, and so well done. His voice is a miracle on it.

Will be making an analog reel of GA commercial career stuff and some off this will surely be on it.
