Anyone attend last nights show at Red Rocks? Living vicariously, how was the show, sound, nice evening?

I visited the complex last September mid day, an incredible bucket list venue for us East coasters.

I am a nugs subscriber so I was able to catch the stream.

Los Lobos killed it. An American treasure.

TTB exceptional as well.  Such a great band.

For some reason I set it up to get the four CDs at once so I am looking forward to the end of August to hear them.

Audio was a bit suboptimal, like a monitor feed.  A small complaint to be able to hear great music live very near to party supplies and no lines at the bathroom!

Yeah i felt the same about Los Lobos at the VT show. Did Gabe do a set? Tangled up in Blue?

VT show was general admission an stood near mixing board about 80-100 feet from stage simply

amazing performance. Anyone at Red Rocks shows?

I went to Friday's show and it was incredible.  A couple months ago I posted here about the Mixhalo app where you can wear  earbuds and get a soundboard mix piped right into your head, but I forgot all about it and the show was amazing lol!!  I was at Row 49 and it sounded great.  I will always miss Kofi but they are just fine with Gabe Dixon.  The new drummer is also great.  My only complaint for years for TTB is the two drummers sound like one drummer but not anymore.  Guilded Splinters had that classic freight train ABB drum groove.  Pasaquan was incendiary. Susan stole the show on I Pity the Fool at the end when she went on a tirade about needed help for women's rights.  I was shocked that she was able to sing more songs after that.  Los Lobos members came out for The World is a Ghetto and the background singers were exceptional on that one.  The drum solo with a Los Lobos member was the best TTB drum thing i've ever heard. Susan did Just Won't Burn for her daughter who was there and that was a real treat.  She sounded fantastic.

I was in the middle of a family vacation and couldn't go to night 2, and after looking at the setlist, i'm now totally regretting the decision to only go to Friday's show.

And yes, Gabe opened and did Tangled up in Blue on Friday

I went to both nights. wife and I had to cross it off the bucket list. 2nd night was great also, I have seen 4 shows this tour. although I like them I'm all good on los lobos for a while. was glad Derek and sue came out and played with them during los lobos set therefore leaving their set open for a great 4 song sit in from jerry Douglas. its clear that Derek gets off playing with him , they were super. All the Love was incredible (and my favorite new song) and you can never bitch about a les brers closer!!  loved the chill vibe at the venue and I enjoyed a few absolute and fresh lemonades too! Colorado is very cool and paradise if you like Mexican food!!  Hoping disc 3 is in my mailbox this am.

I'm sad that I missed Jerry Douglas, Les Brers, That Did It, Made Up Mind, Keep on Growin, Done Somebody Wrong, and Midnight in Harlem, but Friday had its own set of moments and I'm so happy to have seen them and check Red Rocks off the Bucket List too.

This band is really something special.  Derek and Susan seem to have put the Col Bruce Hampton "ego death" vibe onto all the members and while Derek and Susan have a lot of moments, everybody on stage gets at least one moment to shine.  They blend the sounds so well with so many people on stage with nobody stepping on anybody to show off.  It's all just a perfect blend of Perfection.  I am not aware of a better touring band on the entire Planet.  Long Live TTB!

Sounds like some great shows. I need to make it to Red Rocks next year. I was at the Beacon show with Jerry Douglas and Taj Mahal a few years back, so I can only imagine the magic.

The show is up on the archive now. Derek seems to be on another level (again) Great show, Solid recording too. Worth several listenings.
