I have a long-time friend from Chicago who's been on this site practically forever. He's REALLY wanting to go and can't for $ reasons. I'll mention this to him. If you're planning to give away your tickets, he's deserving. Thanks for being a peach!
I’m the one! I’m Sweet River, and yes, I am one of the first to be a member to the list. You can check out all of my history.
I would be most appreciative and would certainly find ways to move forward the blessing.

Billy! Haven't seen you here or run into you at a Chicago show in forever. I couldn't go both nights so I picked the Friday one. Too bad. Hope you have fun.

Lee,
I know...it’s been like forever! Life seems to take up a bunch of time interrupting my jam! I’ve been in touch with Shawn and meet up with him at a few shows over the summer closer to our homes.
Well, you can see I’ve been blessed big time for this run! I’ll post pics from my show for sure. Have a great show and I hope yo seen you down the road at a show.
Peace
Sweet
This is just wonderful. Just like old times. Great music, great friends, great people.
It most definitely feels like old times! This experience has really brought me back to how cool it was for me back in the days of all the ABB Beacon Runs in NYC. It also brings me back around to all the awesome people I have met through this site and through the ABB Extended Family...so very very cool.
Y’all a great bunch!
Peace
Sweet
You guys are in for a treat tonight. Last night was the best TTB show I have seen.
Whoever the keyboardist is well, he's amazing. He reminded me of Chuck Leavell the way he and Derek were going at each other on a couple of tunes.
What can you say about Derek? The whole night it was the Derek night. Susan wasn't screaming her head off. Derek was way more prominent.
Susan mentioned the new album coming out next month so expect a few of those.
They did do Joyful Noise. While it was very nice to hear Joyful Noise, Susan sang it and not Mike.
Great show, great crowd. Probably 85-90% full.
Oh, security was insane. We stood outside for about 40 minutes waiting to get in. There were probably 500 people waiting outside and into State Street trying to get in.

Thanks for the review Lee. TTB is my Winter highlight taking over the Warner each February for a dynamite residency. I am psyched for the shows. I'm still hoping Kofi gets better and is able to play.

Further, I didn't know what the deal was with Kofi and I hope he is okay, but seriously, this guy can play. Also, didn't recognize the bass player. The horns were not featured all that much. At times they would leave the stage. The trombone player sang a song. Mike got to sing I would say a song and a half. I miss him being featured more.

What i've noticed, especially during residencies, is that different parts of the band are represented on different nights. Sometimes the choir will be particularly strong. I love those nights because they usually include, "Leavin' Trunk," "Volunteered Slavery," and "Wish I knew What it Feels Like to Be Free."
When Tim and Kofi were both in the band there would be times when, with Derek, they formed a little jazz trio and went into stellar jams. Other nights are horn heavy often with Coltranesque saxophone from Kebbe.
I've never seen Elizabeth Lee on Trombone sing. I'm really looking forward to that. It is not unusual for the horns to break. Especially during the blues tunes when Susan is featured on guitar. Other shows they never leave the stage. I think Derek's band leading skills really shine with TTB.
I think they usually mix up the set list but when I saw them two years ago at The Chicago Theatre they did this promo thing at a club on the south side the next afternoon after the night before and they played the same things.
Was kind of weird hearing the same stuff in less than 24 hours.
