Hmmm. What this thread needs is a Clapton rumor! Cool

Clapton and Winwood played MSG Feb 25-28, Monday-Thursday.

Cream's 2005 shows started on a Monday in October.

Granted, those were multiple sold out shows because it was Clapton, but I don't see the mid-week scheduling of The Brothers tribute show as a unique issue.

Well i suppose the fellas wanted to do a March tribute show given the history of march in NYC and the only thing that really worked for them was 3/10 at MSG. Get everybody in one spot on one night and bust it out. 2-3-4 shows at the Beacon would have been epic but alas not to be. Oh well. Silver lining = very low cost of entry.

I love that it's a 50th Anniversary show in Year 51 - that's just so....ABB.

I'm happy to have the opportunity to get down on 3/10 with this lineup.

Continuing to watch Stubhub tix. Just today there has been a small bump up in pricing in the 100 sections. I think this is just a scalper tactic to create some anxiety. Last week I counted 587 available seats in the 100 sections on Stubhub (not including behind the stage), and this morning there were 571 available seats, so it's not like tix are starting to get scarce. Still waiting and watching.....

If the 50th Anniversary was 3/26/19, then isn't 3/10/20 still 2 weeks shy of the 51st Anniversary, so it still qualifies as a 50th Anniversary show? Derek said these guys are like herding cats lol.

As it is it’s almost to the 50th anniversary of their first gigs at the venue that would become almost as associated with the original band as the Fillmore - the Warehouse, New Orleans (March 13-14 1970)

Low prices for what should be an amazing show - a win win for everybody

Or hold it at the Macon City Auditorium... do an event at the big house etc... make it an entire weekend celebration.

Rather than any of the band members wanting to do the show, some deep-pocketed promoter probably put it together by offering big paychecks to those involved. I am sure a lot of scalpers, and individual buyers figured they would make a lot of money, only to learn they were wrong.

Ticketmaster released a lot of 100 level seats at $179 to $249 (before fees) and many of them are still available.

Regardless of circumstances, I am happy to have the chance to be in whatever building hosts this show for what I expect to be a night of great music.

I just logged onto Ticketmaster and it looks like they took down all "verified" re-sale seats and are now just listing "original" seats for sale, some of which have just popped up for the first time. Also, a bunch of tickets for sale as in 100's of tickets have been taken down from Stubhub. The games continue LOL.

I saw a post on the ABB and Warren Facebook pages calling it a sell-out.

May just mean the promoter sold all available tickets to fans and scalpers....maybe an equal amount (and obviously the scalpers aren't finding enough buyers).

Seems like the promoter nailed it with pricing & venue and all they may lose out on (compared to a truly full house) are any concessions or merch they were going to particpate in. The band probably just got a guarantee.

Maybe there will be more people in the building than the resales sites would indicate.

No not at all
I just feel as a long time fan I've spent a lot of money over the years
And now I get gouged for 70$ because I got a ticket early
I guess that's "dynamic pricing"
And that sucks
