Stubhub has dozens of tickets listed for $7. That's right. $7 to see the Brothers.

I'm now waiting for the best seats to come down to digestible levels.

I wonder if they are going to do any promo for this. The scalpers have to be taking a bath, right?

Wow. I got taken. I have an empty feeling.

Maybe they should have called it the ALLMAN Brothers. They indeed played a few shows over the years without Gregg and called it Allman Brothers. I remember Gregg was sick as far back as the early 90's and Dickey sang all of the ones he sang on and Warren sang Hoochie plus Statesboro and Somebody Wrong etc.

You didn't get taken, you paid what you felt the musicians deserved.

Without folks being enthusiastic and paying premium up front, honoring the band with what they feel they are really worth, the show would not have happened at all, never would have floated such a huge venue. People always feel ripped off when they pay for tickets and the show deteriorates into a freebie. Saw it happen a lot back in the day.

Give yourself some credit for being a true blue fan - the band is aware of what happened, and they will be playing their little hearts out for the chosen few, count on it.

6 bucks for behind the stage, 20 bucks for top sections in front of stage... What die hard fan wants to sit up there anyway? Now if the front half of the floor falls to $20, then I'll feel a bit taken lol.

So these are all "secondary" market tix's, right? Will Ticket Master cut their prices?

Maybe y'all can do that Seinfeld baseball game trick - buy cheap seats and then move to the unclaimed good seats when the game begins! 😉

He was taken 😮 😉

But seriously,I have no idea what he paid or where his seats are-if I
knew that than it would be clearer what the deal with his tix are.
It may be difficult to get a final answer now given all the price dropping on the remaining better seats that may not happen till the last week up to the last day.

Those of us who said there was no way that band was going to sell 22,000 seats at MSG at those prices were blasted when this was announced.

They can't call it something it's not. In earlier years, Gregg's absence was temporary due to illness. The musicians who're performing are a fine band, but it would be illegal to pass them off as something they're not.

It doesn't matter what you paid. You got the seats you wanted to see performers you want to see. Don't let what someone else paid for their seat spoil your enjoyment. Have a great time.

Even though I dont know shiat, I will give my 2c, shoulda been a Beacon Show, with a clear understanding that if it sold out, a second night, could be added. Heck take a chance, schedule a 5 city theater tour, Brothers50, to me that's just as legit as Experience Hendrix?? Great idea, from what I know standing around busses, all very nice people, finest musicians the world has to offer, just extremely poorly handled???.............Peace.........joe

If you were going to see the show in a small theatre you would be perfectly happy with your ticket I am sure, so no you didn't get taken. You will still see them.

Having said that, who didn't see the price drop coming? Selling tickets at MSG requires a well known band with good promotion. Neither exists.

I saw Dead and Company in Colorado last year, bought tix at the last minute for 80 bucks a piece. They are a band that are well known, well promoted, and well followed and it wasn't hard to get tix.

This will be a great show, I am sure. That is priceless

These cheap seats are behind the stage and in the 400s. I have yet to see actual "good" seats pricing drop at all. Maybe I am missing something?

They also have seats for $1750 but no one mentions those. lol

Well, you can get floor seats on StubHub in the $150-200 range now. You couldn't get those for anything below $300 before. I'm pretty sure the seats for $1,750 won't find a buyer.

Within the last few days I saw tickets viewing the stage for $27. Not six bucks but pretty darn cheap.

I have been watching floor seats and 100 level seats for about 3 weeks on Stubhub. 100 level has dropped in price significantly. Everything in the back curve behind the soundboard was $200+ and now there are lots of seats in the low $100's, prices have been dropping steadily. These are good seats.

Back of the first floor section A-B-C are now not much more than $200, used to be over $300. Level 200 prices have fallen off a cliff.

2 weeks until the show and there are a lot of tickets out there.

Prices do that for every show unless the show sells out. Check other artists and it is the same. These guys are brokers and work supply/demand to try and profit the most. They know some will purchase right away no matter what price is attached.

Prices dropping at the rear of the floor to $200 and this is a sign of Doom Rising? LOL - $200 for a couple of hours music is insane even if Jesus shows up and sings for Gregg. But that is another debate.

Going back to the old Forum before this Superior one, I debated with people who always said that they would sell out MSG. They based that on multiplying the Beacon shows attendance. But some people would go to every show and many people did multiple nights. Not a good indicator.

But it doesn't matter how many are there. It will be a great night.

They sell out in 1972 (Maybe) but not going to do it in 2020 with or without Gregg/Dickey.

If some get a better price than that is good news. I was surprised when they announced it for MSG in the first place. So they may actually be selling more than I thought.

September 1990 at MSG far from sold out. Even w/great seats & solid performance, I just didn't think it was the venue for them.

The one scenario of this being a full house would have been Gregg & Butch still alive and the final lineup were reuniting with (a healthy) Dickey and it was being held on a Saturday night. A considerable amount of people would have traveled for that.. I too was surprised this tribute was planned for MSG on a weeknight. A Thurs-Sun run at the Beacon (not really available) would have sold out 4 nights.

That said, I have been surprised at the lack of social media marketing for this. No video messages from band members or special video montages to get people fired up.

The idea that I could get in the door for under $25 has met intrigued. I could pull off a round trip to LGA for 30,000 Delta points. hmmmmmm.......

Thinking about it myself Tim. I can fly from Chicago to LaGuardia for 90 bucks. Flight leaves first thing on the 10th and returns first thing the next morning.

Nailed it. I was kinda razzed for saying this one wouldn't sell out too...certainly didn't bother me, but the only reason I thought that was because a lot of my friends are concert promoters. It's a shame and I wish they'd be able to play to a rowdy full house as much as anybody but it is, afterall, a tribute to the ABB and without it being the ABB, I doubt that any promoter was willing to even offer them a Saturday night at MSG. That's just me speculating, it could have been what worked for all the different moving parts/musicians trying to align their schedules too, but weekends are offered to guaranteed or near certain sellout events.

Sh*t, I'm gonna look at flights from Nashville. I got a couple couches in NYC I can crash on....this just might be doable now haha.

It's also the middle of NHL and NBA season so a weeknigh night was all that was likely going to be available.

Some tickets are now going for $4.

What do you think happens first, they start giving tickets away for free or the ABB lifts a finger to promote this thing?

Not completely joking.

Clapton and Winwood played MSG Feb 25-28, Monday-Thursday.

Cream's 2005 shows started on a Monday in October.

Granted, those were multiple sold out shows because it was Clapton, but I don't see the mid-week scheduling of The Brothers tribute show as a unique issue.

Also, Ticketbastard is glitching all morning and taking me to the "Lounge" when looking at tickets for this like it just went on sale, then it times out and kicks me out.... that's odd.

Weekday is a unique issue when it would take people traveling from around the region and country to fill the arena (in this case it being a tribute and not the real Allman Brothers Band makes the weekday a bigger factor). Of course there are concerts held at MSG during the week including sell-outs.

My point was that mid-week is not uncommon and unique to this show, and all the more reason it wouldn't have gotten a prime Saturday night slot at MSG.
