Wow. I was there. These were the shows where I decided the whole thing was out of control and I couldn't go anymore.

Haha for sure - those last few years were insane. Literally gave me nightmares of trying to escape from Grateful Dead concentration camp. Should be pretty cush with AC and recliner seats though. Just close your eyes if the close ups of Garcia's face get too grueling.

Really enjoyed the roadtrip last night for this. Good friends that we don't get to see as often these days, a great dinner, & a glimpse of a pretty dang good dead performance from that time, with a friend who knows the history & timeline of the Dead as good as anybody. Interesting discussions on way home about that period and short time Jerry had left on this earth & the fact that Brent was gone not long after this show took place & Jerry's recovery from the stroke a few years before this show. you could see just how much Jerry and Brent enjoyed playing with & off each other. It was a good night musically for the band; lots of smiles, and for these 4 old folks enjoying a night out and a trip back in time. Although I was never an on-the-bus Deadhead and came to them more from a ABB fan point of view, I appreciate what they were all about and their contribution to the history of American music. I try to make these events every summer, and enjoy seeing/hearing them when the music is soaring and the band is smiling on stage' cause they know how good it is! Looking forward to the next one!
