The Donna Challenge

Funniest 13 seconds of audio I have ever heard, I'm in tears:

Thanks for that one too! HA! Another eye roller, oh dear lord! LOL! What I don't get though is how so many very talented music artists never get signed to a record deal, die unknown, obscure, etc. and head scratch inducers like this and Yoko make it big. Isn't it ironic don'cha think to quote Alanis Morisette.
I'm always brought back to this hilarious monstrocity, or is that atrocity. God Bless Ritchie Blackmore, for love is indeed truly blind, just as John Lennon was to Yoko. Whenever, I have a bad day, I go on this and read the comments for a good belly laugh. Not only is this enjoyable for Candice's trumpeting on that awful kazoo gadget, this entire performance is Spinal Tap at its finest!

Donna Jean sang backup for Elvis.
She got hired by Capt. Trips.
We had a blast at all those shows in the early 70's.
When nobody else bothered to buy tickets, I was more than happy to walk up to the window and go inside to listen to Donna and Jerry.
Even the Garcia Band shows with Keith and Donna were outstanding.
Especially the ones 10 minutes from my house at the Calderone Concert Hall in Hempstead, N.Y. (Capacity 2500)
Lay it on me Donna Jean!

Arlene, thanks for posting that video. It was.... an experience.
I don't understand anything anymore.

A lot of this just comes down to artists wanting to work with the people they love, especially if in the past they've spent years on the road and separated from family. Which I think almost anybody can relate to. But sometimes, in cases like Linda McCartney, those people are just not particularly talented musicians or they don't perform well onstage.
Rote defense of Yoko: she's an interesting artist, and I don't care for most of her music personally, but there are talented women in music who see her as a pioneer, partly because she made what she wanted to make and got a whole lot of shit she didn't deserve from people who scapegoated her over the Beatles breaking up or were resentful for other reasons. It doesn't make me want to listen to her stuff, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Because it's a business. Labels aren't trying to sign the most purely talented artists, they're trying to figure out who will make them money. Which makes sense from a business point of view even if the results as a fan can be disappointing and crappily monolithic sometimes.
God Bless Ritchie Blackmore, for love is indeed truly blind, just as John Lennon was to Yoko.
Or in this case, hearing impaired.

Best rubber ducky solo I've ever heard. She can definitely play that thing, I just don't know if anyone other than Ernie wants to hear it.

How far back? 😉 Seriously: the Dead did not exactly have a wealth of great singers.

How far back?
Remember this one?
Also Ron Tutt was drummer for Elvis and The Jerry Garcia Band in the early 70's.

HahahahaHAAAA, that Blackmore's Night clip was priceless !!! And oh how they DAHNCED, the little people of Stonehenge....
(but there isn't anything funny about Ritchie Blackmore, of course, or Candace Night, they are great artists and we mustn't laugh at them)

I downloaded the Donna clip for the ringtone on my phone.
