Tedeschi Trucks Band Free Webcast 2/20 and 2/21

Hey folks, TTB will have two free webcasts from the Capitol Theater on Tuesday, February 20th and Wednesday, Feb. 21st:
https://www.instagram.com/derekandsusan/

After the 5 shows I've seen in 2018, Macon and the 4 in DC, I cannot wait for these webcasts. I'm going to put on my Grados and just melt into the music.

Bumping this thread with a new link direct to Relix youtube channel:
I can't wait, either! This is like free Moogis, I'm gonna plug in my guitar and jam along... 😛 I'm also hoping they'll continue their current trend of playing lots of ABB and DTB songs....

Thanks. Have it on my calendar.

I will be watching these shows. Having said that, living in Philadelphia with no shows on their calendar kinda stings.

Thank You.

I also have and enjoy Grado headphones.............

I'm on a 12 hr night shift, I thought I'd be able to watch it, but I have an outdated browser with no administrative authority to do anything. Booo, No TTB for me.

thanks again, Peachlovingman
really enjoying this

What a lovely gift to the fans from a band that really, really gets it.

You're welcome everybody- glad we caught this show. See ya tomorrow!

Thanks for the link! Awesome stuff.

Here's the link for tonight's show. Thanks again peachlovingman.

Thanks, I'm late to the party tonight...

The link isn’t working. Only a commercial

Have to let the commercial play out. I was starting to panic. Whew...

Show's been great so far. Had a little bit of everything and the third song is just starting.

I love TTB but I have to say, I am really tired of Derek "taking it down" on all these rocking uptempo songs. It ruins the song. He did it during the opener tonight and all it did was kill the momentum and I'm listening to Bound For Glory now and and they threw in a vocal thing this time but still, why?? I'd like to hear a rocker that STAYS rocking once in a while. Bound For Glory, Keep On Growing, I Want More, The Storm, Leaving Trunk, All That I Need, Crying Over You, Any Day... that's just off the top of my head. It would be nice is even SOME of those songs were just rocking start to finish. I do not get the need to "bring down" so many songs. Please stop. TTB has been my favorite band hands down for the last few years but watching the webcast tonight they opened with a new tune that was rocking and Derek did it AGAIN! Killed the momentum which was a shame because they crushed the song before and after a completely unnecessary "bring down." Anyway, end of rant.

I thought this was an awesome show, with many, many highlights and heart-felt, emotional tributes to those who have died recently. Will the Circle Be Unbroken and All My Friends felt like the electric church to me. Bound for Glory was absolutely incredible, I loved the new gospel arrangement.
Thank you to Derek and Susan for such incredible music- all for free!! It's great to see Derek carry on the legacy of the Allman Brothers Band. I sure hope Dickey can jam with Derek and Susan this summer!

This band frustrates me ! Sometimes they're oh, so good and other times ehh ! I don't think I've ever heard Kebbi Williams play a fluid solo ! It always sounds like he's farting into his sax !

Agree with this too. I wish he would try to play more of a goose-melody during the outdo jam on Don't Know What It Means. It literally sounds like he is strangling the saxophone. And the outro is such a great groove.
Don't mean to be dumping on my favorite band but I need to vent and I am betting many TTB fans feel the same.
The All My Friends was phenomenal last night as was the opener (minus the "bringing it down" part) Always love that Sly medley.

I feel the same way about Susan, and her need to belt her vocals.
She has a nice voice, when she just sings. She doesn't need to knock down walls with it so often.
It's exhausting.

This years Beacon run was when the luster began to wear off for me . Things didn't get any better for me at Tuesday nights show at The Capitol Theater.
I think it's more a matter of some of us preferring the extraordinary combination of Power and subtlety that The Brother's brought to the table on a nightly basis . Looking at the crowd at the Capitol the other night I don't think most people felt the same way I did . It looked like everybody loved everything that was happening on the stage . There was way too much subtlety happening for my tastes.

This band frustrates me ! Sometimes they're oh, so good and other times ehh ! I don't think I've ever heard Kebbi Williams play a fluid solo ! It always sounds like he's farting into his sax !
Disagree, I love what Kebbi does there.

rayg, your post about this band having too much subtlety came right after RPOZ51's post about Susan not being subtle enough.
Every listener has his or her own preferences, certainly. I myself often found the Derek /Warren slugfest got redundant; too many songs ended with both guys playing the highest fastest note on the guitar, over and over, especially unfortunate since each man is so capable of more unique and thoughtful choices.
I think Susan has gotten much better at using her voice with restraint and dynamics. However, I agree that Derek brings it down way too often, to the point of cliche or predictability, often at the expense of a good groove.
I still think overall this is the best live band out there.

Enjoyed both shows very much
Thanks for the link
Going to see them March 3rd and July 22nd
WooHoo ! ! !

I agree with the opinion that TTB is the best live band a music listener with similar tastes to mine will find. The problem is The Brother's set the bar too high . Often the subtlety of The Brothers ( 2000-2014) was the groove laid down by Gregg, Jaimoe, Butch, Marc and Oteill underneath what Warren and Derek were playing.

My rant with TTB is always that the drummers, for lack of technical ability and vocabulary to effectively communicate what I feel, sound like one drummer. I've been spoiled by Butch and Jaimoe.
Nevertheless, I will still enjoy the hell out of the Tulsa show with my 4th row center section left aisle seats. Can't wait!

This was my experience at a show I saw last month in Ames. There just wasn't any kind of flow to the show. When they'd build a little momentum, it was crank it down and then follow that up with a slow ballad. I just couldn't get into it at all. That, plus, we got right at 90 minutes of the band (they had an opening act, who also wasn't very good) with between 10-15 minutes of that being a drum solo. Both guys are very talented, but, do that kind of stuff if it's a much longer concert, an evening with. I didn't really pay $75 to hear a lengthy drum solo and less of the band as a group. I was extremely disappointed in that show.
And, there is no bigger fan of Derek on this planet. 😉 Plus, I really enjoy most of what this band has done for 7+ years now. The show I saw was a clunker, and, they don't frequent the midwest all that much, which added a layer of disappointment as I can't really catch them live all that much.
