Tedeschi Trucks Band 2/18/21 'The Fireside Sessions' LIVE

Yes that was good. Liked it all. Excellent Statesboro Blues. I bet Duane Allman would have enjoyed that!!

Jack Pearson on a big guitar with some stiff competition on slide for Derek Trucks!!:)

Paid the $13 to watch this retroactively last night. Well worth the money!
For TTB reluctants, I'd recommend checking this episode out simply to see the dynamics of a quartet: bass drum and the 2 guitars. So many more noticeable little nuances to pick up that may otherwise have been buried in the bigger band sound.
And their house is gorgeous, at least the massive room they filmed this in. Very tastefully designed and decorated. There's a large painting that I think I heard Susan say Santana give to them entitled Coltrane. They had to have designed the room or at least the fireplace mantle around this piece. Fits too perfectly not to have. It's pretty sweet

I know the TTB is not a quartet, but I definitely prefer Derek and Susan presenting they're talents and music in this setting. I like the lineup!!!
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

that was great!
Loved it when Derek put his guitar down to throw another log on.
btw was that Duane's Gold Top during I want More?

I didn't catch that song, but assuming Derek used the gold top here:
then, no. Duane's gold top doesn't have a poker chip around the pickup toggle.
Which makes sense that Derek would just get his own rather than borrowing one from a museum in Macon.

Thank you. That makes sense because if he was going to play Dwaines call top it with the hearing date or a blue score of the sky is crying.
Thank you. That makes sense because if he was going to Play Duane’s guitar it would have more sense to be during Statesboro blues or the sky is crying.
Of interest, it does look like a vintage guitar on close-up because of some of the wear marks on the upper edge.
Great show

It is interesting that Goldtop is so famous and valuable and I agree it absolutely is, but Duane Allman traded it away except he kept the pickups.
I think the Allman Brothers were playing in Florida and the opening band was a local Daytona Beach band but the guitarist had a beautiful Sunburst Les Paul.
Duane had recently worked on the Layla album in Miami and fell in love with Eric Clapton's sunburst Les Paul. Clapton didn't use it on the album and Duane used the Goldtop so the Sunburst is not on the album. And Clapton told Duane that likely he would never use the guitar again, that it just wasn't a guitar he ( Clapton) took to.
I think the sunburst Les Paul was Clapton's number one in the Bluesbrakers. Clapton played an SG the two times I saw Cream so apparently the Paul was backup or at home by then. And with the Dominos Clapton was using the Stratocaster known as Brownie.
So if Clapton was done with Les Paul wonder why he didn't give it to Duane? Then Duane could be playing Clapton's sunburst Les Paul and he could have hung on to the Goldtop.
Clapton later gave it to Susan didn't he? Or was that a custom shop replica of Clapton's Sunburst Les Paul that he gave to Susan ?
Clapton also used a Gibson Explorer in Cream didn't he? I seem to remember some footage of Clapton playing an Explorer. And the Stratocaster called Brownie was replaced by abother Strat called Blackie which was Eric's number one for many years. Clapton has used a large number of custom shop Strats with different pickups and colors in the recent decades but Clapton does not like Strats with Rosewood necks. Maple wood only. Clapton also uses an ES-335 on certain blues songs.
Clapton also is an excellent acoustic guitar and Dobro (reasonator) guitar player. One of the best. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
Eric Clapton is worth $450 million dollars. An enormous amount of money so he can afford all the guitars and gear anybody can dream about.

This is Susan playing Clapton's Sunburst Les Paul on this isn't she?

@stormyrider here's a quote Derek quote about his LP:
This week, the original Duane SG is up for auction. It's pretty wild. I asked around. I have one really nice Gold Top that's one serial number away from Duane's Gold Top, and it's a '57. I looked into it. 'What if I sell that, my car, and another few things? How close will that get me?' It's fine. I got kids, man. I've got college to think about! [Laughs] I just hope whoever gets it, plays it.

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the 4 piece sound. Hoping by September to see TTB @ the Beacon

LOL. Now I remember reading that
At least I feel better identifying the one Derek was playing as vintage.

I watched it and was impressed. I love the stripped down version of this band.

Yeah. Me too...a lot. I mentioned that earlier as well, prefer it over the full band. Maybe they will keep this unit and do something with it.
