Sonny Landreth NYC 7/26/17

Great show. What a master slideman. He is doing a tour in support of his new disc Live In Lafayette. Intricate & beautiful musicianship. This version is in a power trio form. The 2 CD offering is 1/2 acoustic (disc 1) and 1/2 electric (disc 2). It is a gem.

I purchased the new disc Live In Lafayette at the show. I have listened to it a few times. I Love it. I'm definitely throwing out a recommendation for this baby. Acoustic and electric CD's each have their gems, but very strong across each.
The CD has a second guitarist and an accordion player. It captures it's own quality Louisiana Cajun Americana. Unique and special in it's own way. Sonny is a unique player. I love the fingering work he does behind the slide, a nice deeper dimension. The accordion gives the music a little Zydeco feel. I was trying to search out a little sampler for the new disc but couldn't find one. This all music website gives some clickable song samples to gauge your interest.
