"Real Real Love" Behind the Song (Lyrics by Gregg Allman that he never finished)
Well that was simply amazing, the interplay with Dereks guitar and Warrens soulful voice overlaid on the backing makes you wonder how many songs Gregg actually had lying round unfinished. From what I've heard so far this could be Warrens best solo outing to date.
@peach-head My guess is several unfinished. Gregg said a few years before he passed that he wanted to record an album where on every track it says "written by Gregg Allman".
Ahh, so good. So haunting, too ( in a good way )
Love that little exchange where Warren tries to leave it to Derek on which part to take.
Dude, of course Derek takes the outro --- that's why you brought him in!!! 😆
I like the song and I like what Warren did with it and his playing with Derek Trucks on the track.
I heard an interview with Warren last night and the lyrics are old. Paco Zimmer who was Gregg's tour manager in the early 1980's found and saved what Gregg had written back then and after Gregg's passing sent the lyrics to Bert Holman.
Bert decided to forward them to Warren knowing Warren and Gregg wrote together and became close in the 1990's when Warren, Gregg and Allen Woody rode the same tour bus together.
The lyrics were not completed and there wasn't any music but Bert Holman knew Warren knew how Gregg thought and wrote and that Warren could come close to finishing that song very closely to how Gregg would have done it himself.
Good job Warren!!
