Sittin' here with those "Way Past Stems and Seeds Blues" when a thought occurred to me. If StubHub, TicketsNow and others can sell (i.e. SCALP) tickets to shows in areas where ticket scalping is ILLEGAL - why can't those weed dispensaries in California, Colorado, Washington and other places sell mail-order cannabis to locations where pot is illegal?

Yeah, I know - pot is a controlled substance, but it is sold legally in selected states of the union. I use to belong to a beer of the month club that shipped six packs of regional beers via UPS. You had to provide ID and other information to join, but once in they sent alcohol to my home every month. I'll even point out that I lived in Alabama at the time and some of the beers where over the state alcohol limit and bottle size.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to watch the afternoon news - which features reports on now legal same-sex marriage, the right of individuals to own semi-automatic weaponry and even a story about the casino cruises that operate out of my new home town. And I'm not making this stuff up.

My guess is the beer of the month clubs were violating Alabama law shipping those beers to you. I doubt you or the beer club would be thrown in jail over it but I am willing to bet the pot dispensaries and you could end up in jail if they did ship to you as ganja is still a Federal Schedule I controlled substance.

What are the ganja laws in Alabama? Here in Mass anything under an ounce is a misdemeanor and you get a ticket if stopped.
