This just might be my all time favorite. I've never heard a better Warren solo (or Sco-Mule as a whole) than this.
There's so many it's hard to pick one, but I return to this one quite often. Les Brers in A Minor from the 2009 Beacon. Derek and Jimmy dominate the majority of the tune and put on a clinic. Warren speaks last after Derek and Jimmy have already lit the house on fire, and obviously inspired Warren steps up and crushes it.
I also love the Sco-Mule stuff they did with Scofield. Here's the version of Afro Blue from their live album featuring Woody on bass:
The solos on this version seem to soar through the sky. I get chicken skin (goosebumps) every time I play this track.
Hard to pick, but some that really stand out for me are the ones in his early years with Dickey.

That has probably my favorite Warren solo and slide playing ever. He kicks it in with the slide at 3:35 till 5:03 and just soars. Mostly when he really starts to dig it at 4:14 and he hits these licks at the 4:55-4:59 mark...it gives me chills every time

The 92 Beacon run was my first so I'll always love that Blue Sky. Really like hearing Warren in the mix a bit more on Pkay All Night. Great Dreams.
Reminds me another favorite Warren solo is his Nobody Knows solo. Great construction and a nice new song to showcase his octave-peak riff. Red Rocks 92 is a great performance as is Evening With:

One of my other all time favorite Warren solos is Back Where It All Begins. I really felt/feel like his solo on that is his "Chuck's Jessica solo." It really makes the tune for me and I think is one of the defining songs of the Warren/Woody ABB the way Jessica was for the Chuck/Lamar ABB. My favorite performance by Warren on BWIAB is 7/1/94 Raleigh, NC but it's not on the internet so here is another good one:

Warren is a beast on "Back Where It All Begins". Dickey sounds great, but the chord progression Warren plays over is not easy. Warren just destroys it.
That's funny you say that Bob. I always felt like Dickey had the harder solo section. Maybe I'm playing it wrong but I always do the Warren solo over E and D and the Dickey solo over A,D,E,D back to A - tough to resolve!

That's funny you say that Bob. I always felt like Dickey had the harder solo section. Maybe I'm playing it wrong but I always do the Warren solo over E and D and the Dickey solo over A,D,E,D back to A - tough to resolve!
Well, it's subjective I suppose, but yeah, Warren's solo is over an E>D progression with some C#m>C>D>E thrown in, which I always felt keeps you on your toes. Dickey's solo is straight over A>D>E>D>A which is a pretty simple I>IV>V progression, like a reverse "Franklin's Tower", which I always thought was a little more forgiving.

Yeah, they do it 2 or 3 time (depending on the version) and then into that transition that bridges the solos. My advice is just become a Guitar God 😉 (I gave it a shot once: http://brettbob.blogspot.com/2017/04/back-where-it-all-begins.html )
