NRPS - Fair Chance To Know

Great song.
Live at Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA, 6/4/1970 - Bear Sonic Journals
FAIR CHANCE TO KNOW
(JOHN DAWSON)
I WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH MY
HEART DOWN IN MY SHOES
I GUESS YOU’D UNDERSTATE IT IF YOU SAID
THAT I WOKE UP THIS MORNING
WITH A BAD CASE OF THE BLUES
AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M A GONNA DO TODAY
CHORUS:
AND WHY OH WHY
WHY DID SHE HAVE TO LEAVE
SHE LEFT WITHOUT GIVING ME
A CHANCE TO SAY PLEASE
AND WHY OH WHY
WHY DID SHE HAVE TO GO
SHE LEFT WITHOUT A-GIVING ME A
FAIR CHANCE TO KNOW
I LOOKED OUT MY WINDOW DOWN UNTO
THE STREET BELOW
SCENES OF SUNLIGHT FILL THE AIR
BUT IT’LL TAKE MORE THAN THE SUNLIGHT
TO KEEP ME FROM FEELING LOW
AND I GOTTA GO FIND SOMEONE TO CARE
REPEAT CHORUS
I WOKE UP THIS MORNING WITH MY
HEART DOWN IN MY SHOES
I GUESS YOU’D UNDERSTATE IT IF YOU SAID
THAT I WOKE UP THIS MORNING
WITH A BAD CASE OF THE BLUES
AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M A GONNA DO TODAY
REPEAT CHORUS

NRPS! alright! This new Bear Sonic is righteous.

Wow! Found this on Spotify, unreal!
I've always been a big fan and this is a treasure trove.
The band is in it's infancy, ragged form, playing mostly covers.
Does anybody know who the pedal steel player is? Is it Garcia or Buddy Cage?
Sounds more like Garcia to me. It's priceless.
Just when you think there are no more lost treasures! This is a really nice surprise.

The pedal steel is Garcia. Jerry recruited Buddy Cage to replace himself when he left the group after their debut record. For sure, these Owsley early Riders tapes are a lot of fun. Good save, you know those reels were about to crumble.
