I got the new live Steve Hackett, and it is just great. Very well recorded, a band on fire, and a very pleasing setlist. Basically, it's a handful of songs from his most recent solo album, then a batch from one of his early solo albums, and then the great Genesis album "Selling England by the Pound."

Because he has released a live album and usually a DVD from every tour for the past decade or so, and I've gotten most of them, I do already have most of the songs, and like a lot of prog rockers, Hackett doesn't change the versions up wildly. However, the song order is great, and his new drummer is on fire, and what subtle changes they do make are ones that I enjoy.

The big bonus for me is the song "Deja Vu." It was an unfinished song from around the time of "Selling England" (1973), and Hackett had completed the composition for one of his "Genesis Revisited" 'studio albums a while back, but this live version is killer. His soloing soars, and singer Nad Sylvan really puts his heart into it. It makes me think a little of Peter Gabriel's live "Here Comes The Flood." For whatever reason, the CD has a better mix than the youtube video of the song. I have not gotten to view the Blue Ray yet.

Hackett is a legendary guitarist at the top of his game. I'm glad to see him playing so well and having such energy, especially as we have just lost another great.

I have several Steve Hackett Blu-Ray’s and they’re all superb. Looking forward to getting this one.

Amazon doesn’t release this until 10/16. Did you order directly from his store?

Yes, I did order from Hackett's page.

I could not get a straight read from Amazon regarding their package; they kept advertising it as a 3-CD set, but I knew from Hackett's page that there is a DVD + 2 CDs package as well as a BluRay + 2 CDs package.

I ordered directly from Hackett's website to be sure I got the right set (BluRay not DVD). It was about 30 bucks, a few dollars higher than Amazon's price, but I got the right package and put a few extra bucks in Steve's pocket.

@jimsheridan

What are the formats of the audio tracks on Blu-ray?

It got good reviews on the Dutch Progressive Rock Page.
