Mule Years Eve run rescheduled

Will things be any better in April ??

@mulemewarren The pandemic apparently will never go away. Have to get Covid shots like flu shots every 6 months.
Biden blasted Trump for allowing so many Covid deaths in 2020 but sadly there have been more in 2021 and Biden is eating crow.
But hopefully things will cool off as the weather gets warm so we can go see Gov't Mule and our other favorites.

excuse me but trump denied it's existence etc. biden is trying to save people.

@50split Biden is a big disappointment to me. The border is wide open with 2 million crossing illegally this year and border patrol agents overwhelmed and low moral, Afghanistan withdrawal was seriously mishandled, crushing inflation, gas prices back north of 3 dollars a gallon, more Covid deaths than last year after blaming Trump for half of the 2020 deaths, crime and shootings out of control. Over 500 murders in Philly, over 700 in Chicago, crime up in New York with people afraid to ride the Subway etc etc.
I'm sorry I voted for him. Biden hasn't saved any lives around my area. I'm sorry I voted for him and his Presidency so far is a major bust. Maybe things will get better this year. I'm like the Senators from West Virginia and Arizona This massive, never before done, expansion of the federal government and the huge expenditure on social spending, creating a huge entitlement society of younger people rather than being awarded for work is absolutely a major paradigm shift. Some years ago Clinton said the era of big government is over. The legislation trying to get through the Senate now is big government on steroids! Likely a big inflation driver for years.
I'm 75 years old and not much time left. I don't recognize my political party, the Dems, these days.
Trump's antivax crowd seems not to know their leader is vaccinated and got a booster.
A giant socialist welfare state or a right wing cult seems was our choice for President last time.
My favorite Mule song. It's about where we are all headed.

My thing is I'm retired and have too much time to look at the news and like many I'm suffering from Covid burnout. My X wife died from it October 27th of this year.
I voted for the better choice in 2020. I'm just frustrated. I know people struggling need assistance no matter the age. I thought we already had a good safety net here.
Like two notorious Democrat Senators and apparently all the Republicans, I worry this BBB will drive high inflation for years. It would more than wipeout any government check each month.
Inflation is a Pac-Man that gobbles up everyone's money and makes life hard for lower income people.
Sorry if I offended any fellow Democrats. My late parents were proud Democrats and FDR was second to Jesus to them.
Great Mule!! This is what I like!

Not anymore. Yesterday, before leaving for his basement in Delaware, he threw up his hands, told Governors there is "no Federal solution" and COVID needs to be "solved at the state level". The guy is an epic failure.

COVID may eventually go away, or at least be less of a threat to peoples' health as the public builds up an immunity (speaking of FDR, he'd have been happy to know polio was eliminated in the US thanks to vaccines). Omicron is spreading fast, almost every household I know (either teachers or via daycare) around the northeast has a positive case over the past two weeks. Rescheduling a NYE indoor show is the right call.
The deaths of COVID in 2020 were because the administration refused to prepare for a pandemic until it was too late.
By the beginning of 2021 vaccines were approved. But the deaths of 2021 were mostly people who refused to get vaccinated and carried on as if it was over after states opened up. Even though Omicron is spreading faster, it is less of a health risk to adults who have been vaccinated, but unfortunately hitting unvaccinated kids harder.
Biden isn't eating crow, he was attempting to instate vaccination mandates because many people refuse to get vaccinated due to misinformation. Vaccines mandates have been commonplace in schools, for travel, even the army going back to General Washington and the Continental Army's smallpox inoculation requirement.
And also, we're not living in an entitlement society - billionaire banking and auto industries have received more Federal funding than average joes out there who are struggling to put food on the table.

Let me see if I can figure this out. Biden is making vaccines available and telling everyone to get vaxed. He tried to mandate vaccines
Many GOP governors are fighting the vaccine mandate and mask mandates. Talking heads on the right along with Fox are telling people not to get vaccinated.
A drug gets approved and Biden is trying to get it out as soon as it can be manufactured.
The ICUs are filled with unvaxed covid patients, many not elderly. I know this because I work with it every day - we had to double the size of our ICU. We have 40 Covid patients in our hospital (about 100 beds total), 70-80% unvaxed, 99% of the Covid patients on ventilators are unvaxed.
And it's Biden's fault?????? I don't get it.

@porkchopbob Yes not yet have we shifted to a Scandinavian style socialist welfare state with very high taxes on upper income people and corporations. It looks as if BBB will not pass. It went from 6 trillion to 1.9 trillion to zero.
But several smaller bills targeted to help people with child care, tax credits for working people with children and cheaper access to Obamacare that is paid for by modest increases in taxes for higher income people can and should pass.
Biden did say in 2020 Trump has no plan to stop this virus and today he said it can't be solved at the federal level. Senator Elizabeth Warren recently got into a fight with Elon Musk about taxes. She and Bernie Sanders and others think it is immoral and greedy for people to be billionaires. And she accused him of paying little taxes. Less than a secretary. Musk told Warren she is outrageous. That he (Musk) will pay more federal taxes this year than anyone in American history. Wall Street Journal said Musk will have to pay $11 billion.
I got the polio vaccine about 1953 or so. FDR died in 1945. Maybe science will soon find a vaccine that is that effective against Covid. But we haven't a vaccine to keep one from catching the common cold. I have three Covid shots this year. Booster in September. Not sure how protected I am. Expert on CNN this morning said about 75 % against serious illness.
Here is a typical courtroom problem.

The COVID vaccines are effective, they're intended to keep people healthy and alive if they catch COVID. Most of the people in ICUs are unvaccinated. They are not meant to eradicate COVID. It took decades to eradicate polio in the US and most of the world, but it eventually happened thanks to vaccines.
The same people complaining about the specter of "socialism" are the ones begging the Federal government for help from the pandemic-inducing inflation. They don't understand completely how the free market or social subsidies actually work.

@porkchopbob As I understand it from a friend who has been active in politics as a Democrat, social security and other social spending to create assistance and a social safety net is not SOCIALISM. Welfare spending also is not socialism according to the definition that would describe China, Cuba, Vietnam etc etc.
Socialism is when the government controls or owns facets of the economy. Government owned health insurance and drug manufacturing, banking, energy, construction, transportation etc is socialism. Here, so far, the federal government has NOT taken control of any part of the economy. Sanders, AOC, Warren and others support the government taking over parts of the economy such as healthcare, electricity production and the energy sector. Biden's response he told me was " I defeated the socialist for President and I'm a capitalist. But I want to strengthen the middle class with a bigger social safety net through making higher income earners and large companies paid more taxes. Pay their fare share".
Just got this via Gmail. You agree Biden unlike Sanders is not advocating for socialism using the standard definition.

One of the "issues" with the Covid vaccine is not the vaccine, it's the biology of Covid. It mutates. That and the biology of our immune system isn't perfect. We are lucky that there have been no significant mutations of small pox, polio, measles, etc. The common cold mutates all the time, and so does influenza. Covid behaves much more like them. If we can somehow get the virus to stop mutating (maybe by geting 90% of the world vaxed, maybe not) then we have a chance. As long as the virus keeps mutating in ways that present challenges to our immune system, it will be with us.

Been a few years since I watched this. Forgot how good I thought it is.
Good hiding from Covid music.
