Not sure if yall have heard but BO Jr. is hosting 'BO's Jive-Ass Revue' at Grant's Lounge during and AFTER Jaimoe's after-party set at the old Cox Capitol Theatre. BO Jr's show will feature Johnny Neel and I would imagine a slew of sit-ins and goes until 4 a.m., LOL. This likely final celebration of ABB is certainly going to test my meddle/stamina, lol. Prolly resort to some questionable activities, haha...hope I make it out of Macon alive.

It's on.

Dickey Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, has one of the most distinctive voices in music today. Known as one of the most influential guitar players of all time, Betts has mastered a seamless style of lyrical melody and rhythm, marrying country, jazz, blues, and rock into one unparalleled sound.

I'll take 2 for $89 as close as I can get. It's a great/fair price. Many artists with way lesser of a resume and song history are getting much more. NY prices also tend to be higher, I will always remember the show (it's what I live for), but will not remember the few hours of work that allowed my ass to be in that chair!

That Beacon show should be fun.

I picked up 2 front row mezzanine tickets for Staten Island. Easier for us, my mother in law lives there so we can sleep there.

Man, I'm so excited to see this tour happen. I guess this will be Dickey's last ride. Go to the shows and support Brother Betts! Show Dickey your love and respect....he deserves it! Same goes for Jaimoe and his band.

It was meet and greet that was $300 and then of course they have the plats currently priced at $260ish. Frankly even the $150 is a bit much from my perspective.

Living in AZ... this is out of the question, seems like a high ticket price to me. "Marshall Tucker"?...Is that Doug Gray and no one else from the original band?

Might be time to move on. May I add that if Dickey were to be playing songs from Highway Call, Pattern Disruptive and the first GS record, I would go in a heartbeat. No desire to hear Southbound, Ramblin' Man & Blue Sky for the millionth time.

Just my .02 ...I wish all involved with this endeavor, nothing but the best.
Cool

I'm with BigV. This is Great Southern, a band I was never overly impressed with, playing those tunes the same
way as before. Dickey doesn't deviate too much from his standard set-list. And yes, they'll now be playing some
Gregg tunes....It's a stretch for Mike Kach to take on vocal duties on the new Gregg songs. He's not bad, and
nobody is Gregg....I'm rationalizing why I wouldn't pay $150 Smile Marshall Tucker is ....not nearly as good as the
Outlaws. Doug Grey's voice is weak....MTB is just a filler for adding an attraction to sell a few Tix. Devon and Duane
will be fantastic. And remember, it's the promoter charging these prices and selecting the acts....not the band.
I too hope it is a sell out crowd and folks have a great time.

I don't get Marshall Tucker as part of this bill. This is NOT the MTB many of us remember, not even close. Yes, Doug Gray is there but he is the only one and he had serious voice problems and really, can't sing. So I don't know what they could possibly bring to the table. I expect Devon to play with Dickey (I am surmising), and his band with Duane Betts will be fun.

I don't think Dickey playing is some sort of new, different dealio for him (i.e. playing from his solo catalogue). I have a feeling this is a test drive, this run of shows--for himself (can he still do it?) and to see what kind of response he gets. So yeah, I'd expect he'll stick to basics to start. I saw his "Great American Music show" way back when, and that would be fun to see something similar but I doubt it this time around.

Candidly, I am surprised they even got to the Beacon but it is one show. I hope it sells well and inspires Dickey to do what he does so well....

Looks like the show is about 1/2 sold

I took the koolaid for $90 Orchestra Row T

Kinda like the Seinfeld where Elaine decides to get married: "What have I got to lose. Its 2:00AM and I'm at a cockfight"

Might suck; might get cancelled. But I just want to feel even 10Pct of the old March rush through my veins. Better than my other options even if it cost me a few Benjamins

I just shelled out for Orch Row C. Hoping for some of the Ol Beacon Magic. Been 4 years since I was inside the joint, it will feel good to be back. Opportunities to see original members are dwindling. What the hell else I got to do on a Wednesday night? NCIS Toledo? Bring on the music. Fingers still crossed for a 50th Anniversary Something-er-Other next year at the Beacon or Fox or _____.

I'm getting closer, have to figure out some logistics.

I saw MTB several years ago and I felt bad for Doug. He has undergone yet another surgery on his vocal chords since I saw them last, I'm not sure if any improvement has been found there. As someone who loved the 1970s MTB and still do to this day, what I saw in person just made me sad. Chris Hicks on guitar and occasional vocals is worthy of mention, maybe Doug has regained some of his range, but I doubt it.

Still, with the Devon and Duane band and seeing Dickey's band too, it is something I can justify. To me, I welcome Dickey doing alot of ABB material, it is kind of like one last ride with someone that helped write and forge those songs. This is assuming the show actually happens, just based off of history. I will be buying flight insurance probably, something I have never done.

$90 isn't that bad. I've paid more for less. The Beacon is a special place and Dickey is a special musician.

Hey folks, long time since I have stopped in here. Hope everyone is well.

I grabbed tix of course . Any Allman Beacon related show gets my blood flowing. Hoping things go really well that night and the house is packed. Next day is Peachfest so its a great way to start 5 days of music!

Look forward to seeing some of the fine extended family once again in NYC and the Church that is the Beacon theatre to listen to the man in the hat once again!

Yes Beacon fever is a great feeling! March madness in July.....LOL
