This appeared on my home page this morning. I thought they would want more money for it. At $513.00 I thought about it for more than minute. One of y'all should buy it!

Any way to prove it's legit?  I have seen Dickey's signature & that don't look right to me....

Dickey's signature sure looks different from all those I checked on eBay which were similar to each other. Gregg's also is quite different from his current signature especially the way he writes his last name. The "A" in Allman is very different on the item from how he signs it today.

Then again if this was actually signed by the band back then their signatures could have changed over the years so maybe Betts and Gregg's have changed since the early 70's.

My biggest concern is it looks like it was signed with a Sharpie type pen and based on what I have read they only had black until after 1979 so where did they get the white or silver Sharpie in 1972 or earlier for Duane and Berry to sign? Also Sharpie Pens were rare back in the early 70's.

https://www.sharpie.com/about.html

I have my doubts some of these signatures are real and would insist they be checked by an authentication expert like PSA, JSA or Beckett which can cost several hundred dollars for multiple signature items. Even then it is not fool proof.

I would not buy this item as I doubt it is real.

I got Jaimoe to sign my vinyl copy of the first album. I'll compare when I get home.

I got Dickey to sign my copy of Pattern Disruptive in 1988. Dickey signed Dickey on top of Betts as it appears here and in 1994 I was able to get Warren to sign it and without asking he said "That is definitely Dickey's signature". But Betts under Dickey instead of beside Dickey doesn't prove it's real.

Gregg's signature looks a little like my Laid Back copy.

Im skeptical of the authenticity too.

Has anyone seen this before? Seems this would have been in the Big House for years by now.

What's the $13?  IMO, plenty of better things to spend your money on.

If you go to that site there are many items with all 6 original signatures. Just doesn't seem real to me.

@steved

Yeah the items with Duane Allman era signatures for all these signed Albums vary all over the place for all the members.

I would not trust any of them as being authentic.

 Duane would have signed anything back then in pen, me thinks.
