She sounds fantastic. Many singers probably because of booze and smoke over the years plus age, just don't sound the same and as good. She does. Maybe better.
When Joni was young, look reminded me of actress Sandy Dennis.
When Jo Strafford died several years ago at age 90, they reprinted an interview just a few years earlier with Jo and they asked her why she doesn't sing anymore. She said it's the same reason Betty Grable doesn't do swimsuits calenders now.
Some many not remember Sandy Dennis. She passed away still relatively young. I first saw her in 1967 in "Up The Down Staircase". She won the Academy Award for best actress. And when I looked at my Joni Mitchell albums she reminded me of Sandy.

@kcjimmy No I don't know much about Joni's gear. But I do remember when the Martin acoustic she loved and used on all her early albums and shows was stolen in the early 1970's. So up until then she was definitely playing a Martin.
She was such a nice young lady and talented then. It's beyond me to understand what kind of person would steal her guitar!
Not sure if she ever got it back.
I didn't mean for anyone to watch that clip from Up The Down Staircase. Only to take a quick look at how much Sandy Dennis looked like Joni when she was young. At least to me she does.

There are assh*les around to this day who will steal any musical instrument they can get their hands on, not just Joni Mitchell's guitar 50 years ago. Ask any musician who has left their gear sitting in their car unattended. Try it in San Francisco. Might last 10 minutes.
