Just got Songs For Groovy Children - really nice definitive edition of the Fillmore East New Years 69-70 shows. Worth buying if you don't have Band of Gypsies material or like me have parts of it scattered across various releases. Pulls it all together nicely - kills that fragmented vibe of the whole mess of releases. Nicest edition yet, good notes, pics, sets arranged well on discs.

I have Machine Gun/Fillmore East early show 12/31/69. It's a commercial release.

Thanks. Just checked it out.

I had the old Band of Gypsy’s release and the new First Show vinyl release which I’ve been really liking.

I’m not a total Jimi scholar, so have this question: Did he ever play Voodoo Chile - the long slow blues song - live?

Not an expert, have heard a lot of live stuff, looked at set lists, I think I ran across this exact question elsewhere, and the general consensus seems to be no long Voodoo Chile recorded live.
