Jeff Beck Tribute Concert
Posted by: @stephenStrange that he’s gone when his music rocks on & on & on….
his studio solo of Goin Down on the JBG’s 1971 album - can’t be duplicated, no-how
will look at these one at a time, thx jszfunk🤙🎶🎵🎸
You bet!! I will have to check out that version of Goin Down. To be honest I know very little of his work and never followed him all that much.
I thought it was kinda strange in a way to see Derek and Susan there. I just don't see or hear a connection with Beck and those two. Not that it should mean anything and I probably don't know what I am talking about 😋 😋 😋 😜 . Maybe its the Clapton thing where he invited them. I was just assuming maybe more of his contemporaries of that ilk.
I always cringe at those ensemble jams at the end. I wonder if those artists are really into doing that or its just an obligatory situation.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,
@jszfunk Derek and Susan have complimented Jeff Beck over the years.
Warren Haynes in two different interviews I've read cited Jeff Beck as his favorite electric guitarist in both.
Nobody sounds like Jeff did. Nobody would try as several have claimed Jeff Beck could not be copied. No need for other guitarist to try. Jeff had his own bag entirely.
Here is Jeff on a Les Paul without a whammy and I remember seeing Jeff live about 1974 and he played a Les Paul on about half the songs and it wasn't that much different than Jeff using a whammy bar on the other songs he played Listen and see.
Oddly Lynyrd Skynyrd opened the show.
Checkout Derek doing Goodby Porkpiehat on youtube. He kills it.
Is there going to be an official release of this?
I really enjoyed the bass solo on the John Mclaughlin tune. I have seen her before but don't know her name.
