Super rare footage of Soul legend James Carr singing “Love Attack” in 1966, with future Allman Brothers drummer Jaimoe on the drums.

That is cool! I didn't know Jaimoe backed James Carr. I knew of several artists Jaimoe played with on the road.

Of course Jaimoe was also in Otis Redding's road band and in 1968 Otis tragically was killed. Phil Walden was Otis' manger and introduced Jaimoe to Duane Allman and Duane hired Jaimoe as the first member of his new band.

1. Jaimoe

2. Berry Oakley

3. Dickey Betts

4. Butch Trucks

5. Gregg Allman

Of course Reese Wynans was invited to play keys when Dickey was asked to join after Duane dropped the trio idea Phil Walden was expecting.

Gregg said he felt bad when he arrived that Reese would not be in the band but Reese didn't sing and Duane, Dickey and Berry didn't want to be the main singer.
