Not sure if this has been mentioned, but there is a new book out called "Jacksonville And The Roots Of Southern Rock."

I'd like to recommend for your reading enjoyment.

Written by Michael Ray FitzGerald and covering some 200 plus pages, the book takes a great look back in history at all the great bands and musicians including The Allman Brothers Band, Derek Trucks, Cowboy, Molly Hachet, 38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many more who came out of the Jacksonville Florida Area and helped span a new musical identity.

There is a ton of information in this book that might amaze you, just like it's doing with me. I am especially surprised by the section dedicated to the Allman Brothers Band and the detail given to it.

Anyway, Happy Reading!

Released on University Press of Florida, ( http://upress.ufl.edu)

Many thanks for posting this. I'm looking forward to reading it. I couldn't get that link you posted to work but here is one that does. You can also get it on Amazon (of course) quite a bit cheaper.
