We hope to have everything wrapped up by the end of this month, in terms of closing down. It's not a hard date, but an estimate.

Today - Tuesday, January 5, 2016 we are releasing five 2014 Complete Box Sets for sale. These are units we held back to take care of damaged shipments or folks that didn't pay their final payments. I wanted folks on this website to have first shot at them. The link is below:

Take Care,

JNB

We are starting to sell out of a lot of 2012 ABBLive shows.
I believe 11 shows are currently sold out...

We only have five 2009 Beacon Boxes left.
IMHO this is the greatest run this version of the band ever had.

Currently not sure on any packages.
We are going to discount some things dramatically, and some not so much...just gotta get to it.
I would check back each day...Good question - thanks!

That 09 box set looks so nice. Would need to start a gofundme or kickstarter to get it.

LOL!

The whole set is 47 disc - so around $10.64 a disc.

So sad to see it all go!

Will you be selling merchandise until it is sold out or until will it close completely at the end of the month?

Thanks porkchopbob!

We will be closing near the end of the month regardless of how much inventory is left.
Things may change but right now I don't see us open too much after January...

Take Care,

JNB

Truly the end of an era ... it seems like only yesterday that I made my first trip over to the Beacon ... that was in 2004 ... and I met you in the Foyer Joe and ended up hanging around after the show giving out HTN leaflets with you to people as they exited ... so glad to have met you and proud to call you a friend ... good luck to you and Vicky for the future ...

I placed a final HTN order in mid December and was pleasantly surprised to receive merchandise in just a few days. As always great customer service. My order included a variety of items - new Eat a Peach T-shirt; One Way Out book; 40th Anniversary DVD; and Macon 1972 Archival CD.

As I was browsing available CDs and DVDs, I realized what a great resource the concert descriptions and accompanying set lists are. Would it be possible to maintain access to those descriptions even after HTN stops distributing merchandise (? on HTW website)?

I wrote a lot of those descriptions when I worked at HTN rcn727, and I wanted to chime in and say how much it warms my heart to hear you say that. Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad those show descriptions were useful to people.

As for HTN shutting down, I think everyone in the organization knew HTN wouldn't long outlive the ABB.

To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.

Hey Harvey - it was our pleasure meeting you as well and so nice to see a familiar face when we came over to the UK with Derek and Eric! What you describe is exactly what we had hoped to accomplish by starting HTN - uniting ABB fans with each other and sharing in the joy that this music made us feel inside.

RCN727 - thanks for pointing that out. Sometimes we get so close to things we forget to see the forest for the trees (or something like that). Rob did a great job with many of those descriptions and myself and Josh Chasin wrote a fair share ourselves. I think your suggestion is an excellent one in regards to keeping those concert descriptions archived somewhere. We will keep that in mind!

I think the fact that my Step-Father and my Birth Father being in hospice affected our decision to shut down HTN more than the ABB retiring did. It pointed out how fast time flies and how important it is to do the things you want to do in this lifetime. After 23 years of this gig we are ready to move on to the next chapter in this life...but with some sorrow at letting go. Hopefully the Big House takes over and keeps those show description in tact, but more and more I am realizing that it took a special group of people committed to doing what we did to make this happen. I do also think the lack of commitment to putting out new historical products by the ABB strongly factored in our decision as well...

HTW is not going anywhere as Rowland and Lana have stated on this site.

Got a busy day today but hope to post some more specials on here later in the day.

Take care,

JNB

Yep, that was an excellent suggestion by RCN727 and i indeed hope those live cd concert descriptions and setlist / tracklist details will survive some how. I'm not a moderator / computer nerd but i would think keeping them intact (with a message that they can't be ordered anymore) or moving them to another section of HTW should not be that complicated. And there's the benefit that they could be "re-used" someday by HTN or another party (Big House) if thedecision is made "to open shop again".

Thanks Sang - it is always great seeing you and others at each of these events. When we would be on the road for weeks at a time it was like having family provide nourishment at each concert stop. This will be my first time missing Wanee and I also went to the first 14 or so Magnoliafest. I look forward to the next time we are there. My favorite venue of all time...with the best fans in the world!

I wish you guys would have been able to do one last magazine and just use it to tell stories of everything that you got to experience through the magazine. Some behind the scenes information on where all you got to go, who all you got to meet and a little of the headaches involved as well.

I think that would have been a great farewell.

Those are great ideas and we had toss around similar ideas. We certainly wanted to end at issue #86 as that has a meaning in the resturant business as you're out of something. I wouldn't rule out a book. After some down time who knows what may happen.

Thanks for asking.

After Feb 5th we will inventory what is left and offer it to the Big House. For them to take over will take a bit of time to transfer the products to Macon, train them on our shopping cart and get their warehouse set up.

In terms of a sale, we have a few items featured on the link below. The live CDs are going fast and we really don't have any room to discount them. Most of the profits go to the ABB.
