Been wondering the same myself. Hope he's well most of all, of course. Hope he comes back with something interesting.

Dickey is fine. Seems to be enjoying semi retirement, so who knows.

Hi Alan. Have read my copy of your book three times. It really filled in the gaps.

Have a friend who owns and runs a guitar store and is a big Duane Allman fan. He has pictures of himself with Warren and Derek and Duane's daughter on various walls there.

The rumor is Gregg and Dickey finally spoke after 15 years. If it's true I imagine it was on the phone.

Do you know if it is?

Been looking at Dawes videos. I'm seeing Duane Betts playing a Gold Top and an old road worn Strat hard tail. Looks like a 56 or 57. They look like guitars I've seen Dickey play in the 90's and 2000's. Have you seen them? Are they actually his pop's guitars.

Dickey is doing alright. I was with him in late August. His back was bothering him a bit, but he was in good spirits considering. He really is a sweet guy. When he gets to chatting you see the human side of the Legendary icon. He is playing some fiddle as a hobby. He may never tour again sadly, I'd put the odds at 50/50. He would do his mini tours for the love of music not the love of money, He is secure financially. The crowd reactions to his music mean the world to him. I just want the man to find happiness in whatever path he chooses for his remaining years. God Bless Him.

I have a pretty strong feeling that him and Gregg have made peace with each other. A Gregg concert review from the other night said "Before Gregg played southbound,he said this song was wrote by my friend,Mr.Dickey Betts"

I was wondering if he may show up at Gregg's NYC City Winery shows. No real reason to think so, but something I thought about while trying to get tix.

The guest spot with Derek and Susan last year at The Beacon was a special moment . Beacon erupted in emotion as if it was the early 90's again.

Just checking back in and a little behind... Thanks @Robertdee

Yep on both. The goldtop is the prototype of Dickey's signature Gibson LP.

I'm sure most of you saw my summer interviews with both dickey and Gregg... both are ready to make peace... but I have not heard that they spoke and do not believe it to be true.

DB took a pause from performing when his brother got sick and then passed away and as far as I can tell is enjoying his current life..

Thank you Alan. Gregg mentioned Dickey on stage just night before last right before Southbound. "written by my friend Mr. Dickey Betts". So those waters finally calmed down even if they still haven't spoken or saw each other yet.

Thank you for confirming those guitars are DB's. Well I'm sure he is happy for his son to have them on the road.

That Strat had lots of road wear back in the 90's when Dickey played it often with the ABB. I wonder where Dickey got it? Somebody played it a lot years ago apparently before Dickey got it.
