How Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) Made An Album With Tony Joe White's Previously Unreleased Demos

This sounds like an interesting project.

I've always been a HUGE Tony Joe White fan. I certainly prefer his own version of "Rainy Night In Georgia" - with no disrespect to Brook Benton's incredibly fine hit version.
You've probably seen this - not too long before he died, he appeared on the David Letterman show with the Foo Fighters doing his other hit:

@rusty and Porkchopbob. Yes that is an interesting project. Hank Jr. did something similar with Hank Sr. songs.
I remember when Polk Salad Annie was a big singles hit and Tony Joe White appeared in my area and The Earl Scruggs Revue was on the show and Tony Joe played acoustic guitar on Earl's The Old Folks. The melody of The Old Folks all these years later is still in my head. Can't find it on YouTube but this live audio version.
The Old Folks live. Great little melody.

I liked the first few Black Keys releases, but after that they lost me. This is just personal taste, but I really can't get into Dan Auerbach 's music. Hopefully he will do it justice.
