Thanks Scott for the setlist and tour dates w/ opening acts.  I've dug this band since way back in the day but I've never seen them.  That will change soon.  Got a road trip planned in late September from El Paso to San Antonio and will catch them September 26th at The Alamodome.  I would have preferred to get The Pretenders as opener but will settle for Alice In Chains.  After two nights in San Antonio, got a motel room booked for Wednesday - Saturday in downtown Austin (only one hour up the road from San Antonio).  I'm sure there will be plenty more music going on in downtown Austin.

Yeah, I hear ya , would love to see the Pretenders. Pretty much it's just Chrissie and Martin Chambers the drummer(the only two originals, been that way for quite some time). I am not sure if he(Chambers) tours or not though. They would have a  great setlist I believe.

@jszfunk:  Last I knew Chambers was still with The Pretenders.  I've seen them maybe four times, Chrissie & Co. ALWAYS bring it!  Here's a most excellent set from Austin City Limits 2017 with Chambers on drums.

Thanks Rob! I always thought Martin was a real good drummer. Chrissie did that Dylan covers album just a few back . I have not heard it yet. Will have to check it out.

For their fans with tickets for the current tour: i hope for them this is only temporarily but this weekend the reviews of their concert at the huge Graspop Metal Meeting festival in Belgium were very negative due to Axl being in an extreme poor voice. He was very loud and prominent in the mix so Slash & co. couldn't save him. Apparently lot's of people left their headlining 3 hour marathon show half way. Axl's voice was described, among others, as embarassing.

@abbdutchfan:  Wow!!  That's tough to hear.  Hoping he improves by 9/26 but usually only rest would do that, and they have a heavy schedule to get through by then.  Maybe it's a temporary ailment (fingers crossed).

Here's a very positive review from only two weeks ago so apparently Axl's voice problems are a recent, and hopefully temporary issue.

@bill_graham:  Thanks for the review.  From fan feedback it sounds like the only problem was with the mix, not Axl's voice.  It's possible though that he was deliberately turned down because he was sick.

Yeah it could be as Axl has struggled on and off with his vocals the past 10years. I have seen reviews in the past where fans complained he sounded like Mickey Mouse trying to hit the highs on some songs while other nights he was fine so it can be hit or miss on any given night.

Hope you get Axl on a good night as when he is on they put on a killer show. I saw Slash's solo band with  Myles Kennedy at Boston HOB several years ago and Slash is playing better than ever so you should be in for a good night of music.

@bill_graham he sounds like mickey singing in falsetto to keep from blowing his voice out. some nights he does a little less of that and uses the old gritty voice more

@bill_graham:  Thanks for the video!  I honestly didn't think Axl sounded that bad at all.  Did he sound like 30 years ago?  NO.  But not too many singers do, either.  If he sounds about like this, with all the high energy, great songs and great guitar playing, I'm still looking forward to September 26th in San Antonio.
