Clapton was a Les Paul player for years in the 1960's then late 60's moved over to a Gibson Firebird and an SG with the wild paint job. 

By Derek and The Dominos EC switched to a Stratocaster. 

But here he is years later on an ES-335 and NO PICK!! Playing like Derek I suppose. No pick. 

I finally found the Les Paul that I'm looking for.  Could some of you guys drop a buck or two in a Go Fund Me for me?

This afternoon I saw a video and Eric Clapton is saying B B King has a finger vibrato most guitar players would kill to have!!

The late Gary Moore had a fantastic finger vibrato according the Kirk Hammett of Metallica. 

This is slow blues and indeed this finger vibrato about as good as BB King.

Yes!  We could all chip-in and co-own the $325,000.00 Les Paul!  Great idea!  We can even store it at my house!  I won't mind!  😉 

@rusty This guy seems to have Jimi Hendrix's tone and he looks like Derek Trucks in the face. 

Yes we could own that Les Paul on a time share. 3 weeks out of the year you would be hanging with you buddies with a kick butt Les Paul!!

Count me in! I will just tell my youngest daughter she will have to wait to go to college. 😀 

That being said I would be afraid of even holding a guitar that is worth that kind of money. God forbid I dropped it and the headstock snapped off.

@bill_graham In all fairness, reason and practicality - that guitar would be lost and wasted on me in so many ways.  Even if I had that kind of money to spend on a guitar - me owning it would be not only a joke, but a disservice to a deserving player.  Having said all that - I think that $325K is way too much for anybody to spend on a guitar.  I'd be so guitar-conscience and careful that it would literally own me!  What a guitar, though!

Same here Rusty, I am not good enough to appreciate the tone difference between that guitar and my 2000 LP.

If you had that guitar you would need expensive home owners insurance and a safe to store it in. That guitar is worth as much as some homes!

Too your point the guitar end up owning you!

@bill_graham Thanks!  Yeah, $315,000.00 is a lot closer to my budget!  Now, if only this one didn't have that ugly a$$ Bigsby on it ...  😉

@bill_graham Later today I'll try to find the interview with the late Gary Moore about when Peter Greene arranged for Gary to take possession of Peter's famous Les Paul. I think Kirk Hammett of Metallica paid $2 million for it a few years ago. 

When Moore took possession of the guitar plus a guitar case that was owned by Eric Clapton, he had not yet earned enough money to have a real decent flat. It was just too easy to break into Moore's flat so Moore took the Les Paul with him in the Clapton case everywhere he went. He was never without it and slept next to it. I guess it became a burdon.
