Gregg Allman + Support: Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band will play exlusive European Club date in Amsterdam

Gregg Allman + support act Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band will play an exclusive club show at the legendary venue The Paradiso in Amsterdam, Netherlands on july the 24th. Ticket sale starts this saturday. According to the press release (in my native language) this will be the only European club show to go along with the already confirmed festival headliner gig at the new Ramblin' Man's Fair in the UK (in the same weekend).
Fantastic news but before getting tickets this saturday i first have to get the green light from work tomorrow.
It's in the middle of the summer school vacations and it's very difficult to get half a day off from work so i can travel to Amsterdam. Keeping my fingers crossed!

... a man could always get sick
LOL......
Keep us posted. GA and JJB is a great show

Does anyone in the UK fancy this? Just checked flights from Liverpool could fly out Fri morning back Sat Morning for about £100.Though I am struggling to understand the Paradiso website

Yes, i've gotten the green light from work to get half the day off from work for that friday afternoon so i can travel to Amsterdam.
EnglishDarren let me know what obstacles you come across on the venue website.
Maybe this info will help:
Start Gregg Allman: 20.30 hours
Start Opening Act (Jaimoe): 19.30 hours
Venue opens 19.00 hours
I personally think the venue might open a bit earlier or the bands start playing a bit later but i guess this
time schedule is pretty acurate. Normally they want to clear the main hall for dance events that start after 11:30 hours. Often a nice bonus: there's often an additional concert in a smaller room on the first floor.
Charges at the door usually around 10 euro but when you are already inside for the main concert you can walk in for free. I saw many nice shows there in the past for free (Little Charlie & The Nightcats a.o.). So there's a good change for a nice after party. Also the Leidseplein is nearby with lot's of nightlife activity.
Entrance fee 47,- (probably the price for a ticket in advance and not at the door).
Besides the regular ticketbastard adm. fee there's an additional membership charge for the Paradiso Theatre (3,50 euro per event). This is not a scam but the Paradiso and nearby Melkweg (Milkyway) venue do this for tax reasons.

LOL - there is always that.
Sounds like a cool show. If Gregg shows up that is? Just teasing you. It would seem logical to play a small tour though. Hopefully you guys get a few more dates. It would make me feel better about a guy who doesn't like to fly showing up. 😉

Got my ticket
!!!

Ticket and flight booked I know it's a risk with Gregg but if they play it will be worth it,I can't wait.

Ordered my ticket and booked a hotel yesterday !
Can't wait ...
Last time (2011) I saw GA in Bonn together with Tedeschi Trucks Band,
what a great concert ... before cancelling Burg Herzberg-Festival, Nuremberg and Munich ...
I hope we've got better luck this time 😉

Nice to see the Amsterdam show becoming an international gathering of sorts. Gerrypeach, I also saw GA in Bonn together with Tedeschi Trucks Band. Indeed a great concert even when it was obvious that Gregg was in bad health (just like the day before at the Bospop Festival in the Netherlands which i also attended). Gregg was really under the weather but the co-billing of the TTB and Derek and Susan's guest spots during Gregg;s show made up for that. Gregg cancelled the rest of his European shows and returned to the US on docters orders so i guess we were really lucky seeing his last show at the Museumplatz in Bonn.
That year i didn't have plans for the Burg Herzberg Festival but i have been going there for the last 3 years. What a fantastic festival. It's always seems to be a nightmare to make it to the camping grounds but that adds to the feeling that everybody is travelling back in time to have a Woodstock kind of experience. Has become my favorite summer festival. What a vibe! I still hope they gonna book Gregg for the festival. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah !
Last time I've been in Amsterdam was ten years ago ! How time goes by ....
Gov't Mule came to Europe for the first time and they played Melkweg in April 2005 ! My first Mule-Concert, great !

They came back in summer 2005 and played Paradiso, too !
This years Gregg and Jaimoe-concert will be my first time at Paradiso ...
Speaking of Burg Herzberg Festival, this year's lineup includes Royal Southern Brotherhood !!!

Hello Gerrypeach,
Yep, RSB and also Beth Hart, JJ Grey & Mofro and lot's of stoner / desert / psychedic rockbands which i like too. Still keeping my fingers crossed for Gregg Allman. And in case they want to book more bands that played recent editions i wouldn't mind seeing Garland Jeffreys again. One of the surprise killer concerts i've seen in recent years.
BTW, i was also at that Gov't Mule show in Amsterdam in 2005 at the Melkweg (Milkyway). It was their first short and very anticipated European Tour so i also saw them the night before in London at the Mean Fiddler. Didn't have a hotel in London and spent some late night hours at a jazz / blues bar before flying back to the Netherlands. Then went home for a quick shower and then jumped on the train to Amsterdam to go to the beforementioned gig. What a trip! I met one or two German fans at the nearby Leidseplein so maybe that was you? And what surprise to find out that from 2005 and onwards both Gov't Mule and Derek Trucks (DTB and TTB) regularly started to tour in Europe. And also visits from Dickey Betts and Gregg Allman. Who would have thought of that back in 2004? Unfortunally no ABB tour in Europe after 1991. See you at the Paradiso!

Got my ticket in the mail today ... hotel is booked ... can't wait !!!
Let's hope that Gregg shows up ... 😮

It isn't Dickey. 😛
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Usualy I don't defend Dickey ... but in this case ...
Dickey didn't miss a gig in Europe when he came (1978, 2008 and 2012),
as did Gregg (because of illness) in 2011 ! Saw him in Bonn with Tedeschi-Trucks, but missed him at Burg Herzberg-Festival, Munich and Nuremberg ! So I hope he stays fine ...

Well, unfortunally it looks like no other Gregg Allman dates in Europe. At least not in late july / early august which means no appearance at the Burg Herzbergfestival. If a festival date would have been added i gave that fantastic festival a good chance because he had to cancel a previous headliner-engagement at the festival. The press release for the Amsterdam concert already mentioned his appearance to be the only club / indoor show in Europe but that still left the door open for another festival gig. But on 07/30/15 he's back in the USA in Bridgeport, Connecticut for Gathering of the Vibes. But i guess i should call myself lucky living relatively nearby Amsterdam and the Paradiso is a cool venue to see Gregg.

You're right ABBDutchFan !
I also hoped Gregg would catch up his gig at BurgHerzbergFestival he missed in 2011 this year ...
When I realised it is not happening I wondererd about going to Maidstone Rambling Man Fair (funny name btw ... actually they should invite Dickey to honor the festivals name 😉 )
So I'm very happy to see him in Amsterdam ... which is only four hours train ride from Frankfurt, Germany !
BTW we didn't meet at the Mule-Gig at Melkweg 2005 in Amsterdam; The only person I met, was Shorty ...
