Great to see Peter Green's version get some Hef love.

This forum saddens me at times though. Years ago clips like these would get some reaction and discussion. Now 170 views and a Quinn smile. Shame.

Seems like only arguing gets posts now.

OK - Peter Green sucks.

Derek Trucks is a weak Duane imitation.

Gregg couldn't find a venue on his own.

It is all Obama's fault.

Republican's are trying to bring about the destruction of the USA.

Ted Nugent deserves to be President.

That should get it going. 😉

You're not the only one who has noticed brother...:( I used to come here to discuss the music of the ABB, Mule, and Derek Trucks, and Dickey Betts, as well as other classic 60's bands that we all grew up with.

This is no longer my primary site to do so. I spend a lot more time on what used to be my secondary sites. Hell. I've had more music related conversations on Facebook lately than here.
Only a few people seem to still care about music around here anymore. ..:(

BTW...thanks for the Fleetwood Mac clip. I enjoyed it! Peter Green looked so together. Too bad we all know what's to come...

It definitely has changed over time and many who were involved in those great discussions are gone.

But still plenty of great people like yourself around here Andrew. Just have to weed through a lot of hatred to find them. 😛

Would love to hear the whole jam that they were playing when the show ends.

Does anyone know where this show aired? Love the fact that bands actually played live. Seems like more clips appear daily. The Grand Funk Railroad vids are cool too.

CannuckMule I enjoy your Playboy After Dark clips. It's cool to see how hip Hef was at the time. As far as Peter Green goes, he certainly is respected by a ton of folks. I just wish there was more recorded evidence of his virtuosity. It isn't that obvious here.

This according to Wiki

"Playboy After Dark is an American television show hosted by Hugh Hefner. It aired in syndication through Screen Gems from 1969 to 1970 and was taped at CBS Television City in Los Angeles."

Evidently you can this show on two 3 disc DVD releases. Based on the Episode list below this is small number of the actual shows that aried. It is tempting although Vol 2 looks to be OOP!

Here is an episode list showing the guests for each show

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063940/epcast

Interesting Episode 26 Nov 1969 list Deep Purple w/ Gillan and Glover but I am guessing this is a misprint.

Thanks for the list. There was some awesome talent on that show. Hef definitely was getting some of the drug culture bands that many shows stayed away from.

Seems to have really liked Steppenwolf.

Not as many people here as back in the day but a few developments have happened in social media and the internet in the past 10-15 years, dontcha think? And the band who's site we are on went part time 5 years ago and retired this Fall.

The ABB listserv has slowed from what it once was too, but lots of that list seems to be connected on Facebook.

I'm kind of amazed there is as much traffic here as there is! And I still pick up musical suggestions here, though, but more often elsewhere now.

Y'all still a great bunch, though.
