Favorite lines in a song

Pretty slow around here. The Poncho and lefty post made me think about one of my favorite lines from a song. "his horse was fast as polished steel". What a great line! Thought is would be to cool to hear some other folks favorites.
I'll add:
BB King "I gave you 7 children, and now you want to give them back!"
Jason Isbell "Ain't gonna hit the town, this town can hit itself"
and of course Greg "the roads goes on forever"

Dickey " Lord you know what makes me high...when you turn your love my way".
Mick and Keith " She blew my nose then she blew my mind".
Gregg " If I ever see that woman coming down the street I'm gonna stand back and move away slow".
Dickey " Tell that other man there with you that sweet daddy is on his way".

"I may not have the answer, but I believe I've got a plan." Jackson Browne Redneck Friend

Lynyrd Skynyrd " I hope Neil Young will remember, a southern band don't need him around anyhow".
Pale Rider starring Clint was on TV last night. Carrie Snodgrass has a part and she moved in with Neil Young back in the day and she had a baby. Neil finally left and moved on so Carrie took him to court and won $10,000 dollars a month child support plus Neil had to buy her and the child a $300,000 house.
Clint with his reputation with women may have maintained just a professional relationship this time. Clint also directed.

Tons, not sure where to start.
Alot of it has to do with the vocal delivery
The whole song Mean Street by VH.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath , The best part is at the end of the verse when Ozzy yells it out.
When you ask the reasons why
They just tell you that you're on your own
Fill your head all full of lies
You bastards
I catch a lot, sometimes too many
Returning to the wild where I'm from
Ready and aimed at you
Pick up your balls and load up your cannon
For a twenty-one gun salute
Tell 'em that God's gonna cut 'em down
Led Zeppelin -In The Light
And if you feel that you can't go on
In the light you will find the road
Gregg Allman-These Days
Please don't confront me with my failure
I'm aware of them
David Rawlings- Method Acting
So T-Bone, please keep the tape rolling
Gil, keep strumming that guitar
We need a record of our failures
We must document our love
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Longing to tell you, but afraid and shy
I let my golden chances pass me by
If I loved You, Carosel, Rodgers and Hammerstein

And then one night in the lobby of The Commodore Hotel I chanced to meet a bartender who said he knew her well
Another:
I can't believe I let that mere woman make me out a fool
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

The BB King lyrics above are among my favorite. So is the last verse of Dixie Chicken
Bob, Buckets of Rain
Life is sad
Life is a bust
All ya can do is do what you must
You do what you must do and ya do it well
Phish Them from the Bottom
So toss away stuff you don't need in the end
But keep what's important and know who's your friend
Robert Hunter / GD, Brokedown Palac
Fare you well, fare you well
I love you more than words can tell
Jorma / Airplane, 3rd Week in the Chelsea
Well now what is going to happen now is anybody's guess
If I can't spend my time with love I guess I need a rest
Time is getting late now and the sun is getting low
My body's getting tired of carryin' another's load
And sunshine's waiting for me a little further down the road

Wish I didn't know now what I didn't then
-B. Seger
I must admit I felt a little uneasy when she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe
-B.Dylan
All the people we used to know, they're an illusion to me now
-B.Dylan
It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe
-B.Dylan
You can see the stars, but still not see the light
-Eagles
Down we go on a water slide that's made up of the tears I've cried
-G. Potter
I'm a pretty good cook,I'm sitting on my groceries
Come up to my kitchen,I'll show you my best recipes
-J.Mitchell

No reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
Someday, everything's gonna be different
When I paint my masterpiece.

"Please don't confront me with my failure / I'm aware of them" isn't that by Jackson Browne not Gregg?
A few lines I like:
"I ain't good looking, baby / But I'm somewhat sweet and kind" After Blind Willie McTell
"If your thing is gone / And you wanna ride on / Cocaine" by JJ Cale
"Shall I tell you about my life / They say I'm a man of the world" Peter Green
Too many Dylan lines to quote.

" someday soon we'll reach the end and we'll all be singing and we'll all be friends - Back where it all begins"

Lennon and McCartney. " He's got feet down below his knees"
Gregg: "Every other Christmas I practice good behavior".
Elmore: " My baby caught that train and gone. I must have did somebody wrong".

Sympathy for the Devil- Jagger/ Richards
I think the whole song is brilliant but several passages really struck home for me
I am not religious but thought this was a great snippet of the lyrics
And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
These lyrics always get me thinking
I shouted out
Who killed the Kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me

agreed.
It's interesting that Mick cut that verse out of performances the last several years

John Prine has loads of them. A few faves:
from Spanish Pipedream:
Well, I sat there at the table
And I acted real naive
For I knew that topless lady
Had something up her sleeve
from Mexican Home:
The cuckoo clock has died of shock
And the windows feel no pane
The air's as still
As the throttle on a funeral train
from When I get to Heaven:
And I always will remember these words my daddy said
He said, " Buddy, when you're dead, you're a dead pecker-head"
I hope to prove him wrong
Someday, everything's gonna be different
When I paint my masterpiece.

"Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry. Happiness I canot feel and love to me is so unreal." By Sabbath
"Who's the one that makes you happy? Or maybe, who's the one always on your mind? And who is your reason you're living' for? Who's the reason for your smile?" By Tesla

Well, if you ride you pay the fare, with Satan on your back
And he don't care where you come from or where you goin'
Leave My Blues at Home/ABB

My apologies since this is completely opposite of the thread direction but without question my least favorite line from "Fatman In A Bathtub" Lowell George singing
Don't want no speedballs 'cuz I might die tryin' 'em
Which is exactly what happened. I would have liked many more years and much more music from Lowell.
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

"Now there's one thing in the whole wide world I sure would like to see

Once in a while you get shown the lighting the strangest places if you look at it right. Robert Hunter
Nothing left to do but smile, smile smile. Robert Hunter

Sometimes it's a line that just reminds you of someone you used to know
I've seen you smilin' in the summer sun
I've seen your long hair flyin' when you run
-B.Seger

”The band was hot so
They danced the famous Merengue
Now we dolly back
Now we fade to black”
”Is there gas in the car?
Yes there’s gas in the car!!”
Steely Dan

I see a couple of GD in the list but my Hunter/Garcia and Weir/Barlow list is very long but here's two to start
When life looks like easy street there's danger at your door
I maybe going to hell in a bucket but at least I'm enjoying the ride

@oldcoot You are right Old Coot. I saw them 4 times with Lowell then after he died it was still good but it's just not the same. The band has a different vibe and feel. Same with Lynyrd Skynyrd after Ronnie died and the ABB after Duane.
Bobby Darin: " Splish splash I was taking a bath long about Saturday night!"
This is a true story. Bobby Darin had 3 big pop hits in a row with Somewhere Over The Sea being my favorite and got the big head and told Frank Sinatra back stage at the Sands in Las Vegas that he was replaced Frank as the top male pop singer in America.
Frank looked at him and said " Well you better begin by being more careful with what you record. I wouldn't be caught dead singing Splish Splash!"
This is some real fine singing from Bobby. I'm sure we all would love to sing this good.

If you had just a minute to breathe
And they granted you one final wish
Would you for something like another chance?
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

I got a chip on my shoulder that's bigger than my feet

There's a damn good chance,
