Yes I thought about it but didn't post. I still have my vinyl copy I bought in Feb 1972. One of the best albums by any band!!

It is true as the article pointed out the band was at their commercial peak especially with album sales. They continued to sell out good size venues especially on the east coast. But albums just didn't sell that well.

The only album which went gold (500,000 plus) was Where It All Begins in 1994. They even got out of the album business after Hitting The Note (200,000 copies)

Their last platinum album (1,000,000+) was Brothers and Sisters in 1973!! And did it sell. Over 5 million copies.

Blue Sky on EAP set the standard for twin lead guitar... a beautiful piece of art by Dickey & Duane

@redhouse1969 Yes it also is a song a lot of women love. The album version has been played over 7 million 900 thousand times on YouTube.

To me it is a masterpiece. The best song ever written.

And Chuck Leavell said the song is one of his favorites and he loves playing it. Here is Chuck playing a sweet piano solo and singing backup December 31, 1973.

The Live At Fillmore East and Eat A Peach albums transformed my sense of music appreciation that pointed me on a path that I continue on today. At 71, I've lived a lot of life, however it is difficult to believe it's been fifty years since EAP landed for our pleasures. I will be forever grateful to the men, crew, studio personnel and all involved with the original band.
