Duane era footage releases?
Anybody know anything about footage? Check out the footage here, it has crazy intimate Duane era footage mixed in: https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=10155478359935698&_rdr
Any idea where its from?

looks like already removed 🙁

The Warehouse, I think, not sure of the date.

I can't get it to work.
There are variations of the guitars Duane and Dickey used in the original band and I doubt the type of guitar is foolproof for every show.
But generally speaking if Duane is playing a Goldtop Les Paul, Sunburst Les Paul, Tobaccoburst Les Paul and an SG for slide can often tell you the time frame of the picture or film. There are a few pictures of Duane playing an ES-335 which I think is tobaccoburst so you can look at what Dickey is playing.
If Dickey is playing an ES-335 ( some say it was a ES-345) it would be summer to fall 1969. A sunburst Fender Stratocaster is fall 1969 to spring 1970. SG ( same guitar Duane later used for slide) summer of 1970. Later in 1970 Dickey moved to Gibson Les Pauls but wasn't happy with several. Fall of 1970 a Goldtop with a pickguard, another without, one with a piece of the Goldtop missing which I think is the one some red was added to the guitar that gives it a sunburst look and that is Dickey's guitar on Fillmore East. By summer of 1971 another Goldtop that to me had the best tone of any guitar Dickey has played in the band. That is it on One Way Out on Eat A Peach.
So usually the guitars Duane and Dickey are playing will put a picture or film in certain time periods but not always. There are some shows an unexpected guitar was used.
I've seen one picture that has Dickey on a Tele and Duane on a ES-335 and its black and white so who knows the colors of the guitars.
And I have a color picture with Dickey on that sunburst Fender Stratocaster and Duane is playing a BLACK Les Paul. Probably late 1969 or early 1970. Maybe.

Clicked on the link, a promo video for a song, "I Love The Life I Live" came up, a tune from Gregg's last record.

Definitely not Love Valley or ATL Pop. I wonder who is sitting on this footage.
Here's a screen shot of the footage:
and a photo from the Warehouse (from the Chuck/Lamar era)
Yeah I'm also thinking it's the warehouse. The video says it's from Atlanta in description but that's gotta be wrong. Also btw I love your statesboro animation you made called "okay, the allman brothers band"

The first photo is from the pavillion at Piedmont Park, other one is the Warehouse.

I seemed to remember his footage had been discussed previously and found the thread here https://allmanbrothersband.com/community/general-chat-anything-goes/old-abb-footage-in-new-ga-video/#post-102466
Seems people are split between the Warehouse and Piedmont Park. In the thread it is thought Dickey is playing a Strat and Duane is playing a Gibson. Someone also thought Dickey played a Strat on and off from February 1970 to May or June 1970.
From what I can see there is a brief shot of Duane closing a song and starting to take the guitar off. It doesn’t look like a goldtop or an SG to me but the footage is grainy so it's difficult to work out.
I believe the last show the ABB played at Piedmont Park was 31 May 1971 so it can’t be the tobacco sunburst ‘59(?) Les Paul as Duane took ownership of that on 25 June 1971. That would also mean if it was the Warehouse it could only come from one Warehouse show, 16th September 1971. This obviously does not tie in with Dickey playing a Strat and photographs from this concert show Duane was wearing a t-shirt and in the footage he's wearing a floral shirt.
If it’s the 1959 cherry burst Les Paul that Duane played at the Fillmore, then Duane took ownership of that guitar on 16th September 1970, which means the footage is likely to come from 27th September 1970 show at Piedmont Park. I can’t find any photographs which might support that is the right concert and we have to make the assumption that Dickey played a Strat a few months longer than we thought. If Gregg’s Facebook page says it’s Atlanta 1970 then I think it’s 27th September 1970 at Piedmont Park with the Hampton Grease Band, Eric Quincy Tate, Avenue of Happiness, Stump Brothers, Chakra.
Happy to be corrected if people can see errors in my logic.

Great article on Duane's guitars
