Don't Keep Me Wondering

A buddy of mine sent me this last night. The cat doing the introduction is from Atlanta Pop. However, I don't think they were wearing long sleeves when the weather was blazing hot in July. Doesn't look like an outdoor gig to begin with. Any ideas where this was? And why would they have spliced that intro?

I went to Atlanta. This is from their first show at the Atlanta Pop Festival. It was at night.
They played the next morning in the daytime.
Gregg and Oakley are in short sleeves.
By the summer of 1970 Dickey had switched to a SG. First several months of 1970 Dickey was playing a Strat.
Duane still with the Goldtop he began using in 1969 and down in the bridge pickup and his slide was green. Latter he switched to a Sunburst Les Paul but they say the same pickups used here.
Dickey said Duane was playing a Strat when they were forming and I assume that is the same Strat Duane is using in pictures of him at Muscle Shoals including the famous one of Duane and Wilson Pickett.

Here is Statesboro and Every Hungry Woman from the daytime set.

Is everything on video? Thanks for the info! Was Gregg wearing that vest they shared?

@wooddog I have read over the years the guy filming only shot a few songs on each band that played. Others occasionally claim the entire ABB show was filmed. But which one? Night or day show and why haven't we seen it yet. This is like waiting for the real assassin of JFK to surface. 58 years later and it looks like it really was Oswald acting alone. Same with his concert.
Perhaps a decent video will come out that is a mix of the night and day sets.
My hunch is it's not sound of film. The sound was recorded for an album release which did come out in 1971 and I believe the ABB is on 2 tracks.
The entire Atlanta Pop Festival ABB sets was finally released years ago on two CDs. I bought that and use to play it alot. Except I got tired of hearing the guy talking about Life Magazine taking a picture of an egg being fertilized and how it twirls and it's a dance and All men play music.

I believe that I read in both Galadrielle's book and Alan Paul's book that the vid exists and hasn't been released because of legal issues.
One can only hope.

Butch Trucks put clips up on his blog but was forced to take them down due to copyright infringement.
I have read that a private person supposedly owns the film rights and did a private screening of the Allman Brothers video and someone who attended said the video was amazing.
There are clips from the nighttime set and the daytime set floating around so would love to know how much video there is from Atlanta.

That is amazing. Butch Trucks was IN the band and a founding member (5th to join) and he is not allowed to display Allman Brothers Band footage.
That is almost as outrageous as the man who owned Fantasy Records taking advantage of young musicians with the big example being Creedence Clearwater Revival and he got all the royalties off of songs John Fogerty wrote. Not half of it but ALL of it.
And if that guy doesn't release that footage soon I will be 102 years old.
Apparently he doesn't want anyone who went to see the original lineup as often as possible to see it.
Maybe it has been a standoff between him and the band. Maybe the band wants to release it but not at the price the owner of the footage wants so they have been waiting each other out all these years.
And who is the band now? Dickey and Jaimoe?

I hear you Dee. Not sure what is holding up the release of the video but it usually comes down to $$$
If they wait too long there will not be enough of us older fans around to even buy it if they eventually release it.
